Question for all members on the forum
Posted by electrolove on Saturday, September 10, 2005 10:16 AM
Some of you may already know that I used Photoshop a lot for planning my layout and it's really nice in many ways. The app is expensive but there are demo versions you can download and use from Adobe. I'm planning to make a mini tutorial and tell what you can do with Photoshop when planning model railroads. I just need to know if the members here are interested? If you are I will post something with lots of pictures in a couple of days. Just let me know.

Yeah, me, I'm interested (insert 'raising hand' smilie). But I hope you can explain it in basic enough terms for a computer semi-literate like me. [:D]

Electro

I would also like to see that, I use Photoshop and almost all the other Adobe line of software, on the machine they were meant for "Macs" [;)]

I already have my layout done, but would like to redo the plan to post. Do you plan on showing how to do the scenery. etc, similar to the MR postings in the mag?

Great idea [tup]

YES! I am always interested in learning new skills. Planing with Photoshop sounds line it might fit my style better than a cad program.

I'd like to see it, electro.

Depending on what you are doing, Photoshop Elements might work, and if you shop around, you can get Photoshop Elements on eBay for less than $60.

I would certainly be interested as well. I've got it at work and could do it in my downtime, though I use one of those nasty PC things. [;)]

You're Gonna LOVE it!!! I look forward to the "clinic". Always looking to learn something new. I also use the Mac (G5 dualie 1.8Ghz) as I do a great deal of graphics in my business.

Yes I would really like to see this. I have always wanted to understand Photoshop. I have the program but never took the time to learn how to use it.

I think if most people have 5.5 or above you should be able to to almost all the graphics a person needs, though I think 7 or CS brought to it some vector graphics? I think, most of the updates I have seen all the way to CS is actions and filters that people had done manually or achieved in the past.

Hoping for some great tips, if someone has some photoshop photo editing tips that would be a great idea also.

Me too! I've puttered around with Photoshop Elements for the last couple of years. It would be terrific to have someone actually explain the program and its capabilities. I also own 3rd PlanIt, but still haven't done much with it either. This would be a definit step forward. Count me in!
