Clinchfield layout plans from about 6 yrs ago
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, September 2, 2005 5:56 AM
Hi i am looking for what issues that contain a step by step layout design for a layout in N called Clinchfield. I believe it was published about 6 or 7 yrs ago. The layout is 13ft by 7 ft. It had a coal mine and power station as the main points of interest in it.

Thanks from downunder

Hi Tony,

Peter is right about the dates. That series of articles was also collected in a book, "Modeling the Clinchfield Railroad in N scale," by Gordon Odegard, published in 1979, with a second printing in 1990. The book is out of print now, but you might be able to find a copy on the Net or at a model railroad show. Or you can order photocopies of the original articles from customerservice@kalmbach.com.

So long,

Andy

Thanks for your help. I looked through my collection of Modell RR and found the April 99 issue and also the June 79 issue. It at least gives me an idea. I am about to purchase a layout that was built from those plans. It is at the scenery stage with just the track laid and the wiring done.
cheers from downunder

Why not buy the complete book? The articles were published in complete form and we have about 2 dozen copies left.
