Proto-2000 E-8 problem

I just purchased Lifelikes Proto E-8A and E-8B set. The unit wobbles as it runs down the track. Upon closer inspection found that the lead wheel raise up off the rail entering curves. I also noticed that there is a set of springs mounted in the truck assembly that enable the front or two rear axles to swivel in an up and down fashion. I checked all wheels for gauge and roundness and all are ok. Minimum radius curve on my layout is 38 inches so I don't see that as a problem. Track is excellent shape as far as level is concerned. Also noticed where they went overboard on greasing.
Anyone else have this problem? If so what would your advice or experience be? Thanks. Dan
