Overland Models Conrail E8A (ex-EL) HELP!

Hi everyone...I have a OMI Conrail E8A that is unpainted and in excellent condition. I have a bag of parts that came with it including a plastic piece that I would like to attach to the model but am not sure what the best way to attach the brass and plastic pieces to the brass shell. Does anyone have any suggestions? I would like to do this the best way possible so I don't damage the model in anyway. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
