CP Rail with some UP and CSX locos.(I've been told that you would see those 2 running on CPR trackage). Transition era but I probably won't strictly adhear to that.(love those AC 4400's)

I forgot to mention that I model present day Illinois Central without the CN/IC merger.

I model the one in my memory, which includes the CB&Q Zypher, Milwaukee Hiawatha, CNW in Winona, and an imagined trip to Denver that I never took untill the Sublime to Redikulas was born. Every scene has a prototype in my mind. The S to R has a logging Mountain in Minnesota, a River scene on the Mississippi, a desert scene, and Mountain Scene in Arizona. I had to compress the miles, but its true to the prototype, if not reality.
If you think you have it right, your standards are too low. my photos http://s12.photobucket.com/albums/a235/ARTHILL/ Art

Mostly U.P. A strong presence of Santa Fe. Anything else that looks good. I have a major weak spot for Bi-Centenials and Demos.

I model Norfolk Southern with UP and BNSF. It will be a while before I can build a layout , but I'm considering somewhere on the Atlanta to Chattanooga line.

I'm modeling a freelance logging railroad with Shays Climaxes and Heislers. I chose the era I did because steam is the coolest form of locomotion there is. Period.

I model mostly C&NW although I also try to have at least a locomotive model of all the trains that I have actually ridden. So I also have Amtrak, VIA Rail Canada, Algoma Central, Rock Island, Ilinois Central trains, and a Deutsche Bundesbahn Type 103 electric loco with a couple of cars appropriate to it.

Era? None in particular although I guess I could say modern. My railroad makes so much profit that its CEO (me!) doesn't mind spending lots of money to maintain old stuff in superb operating condition to still use in revenue service.

My dad models modern agriculture BNSF. He started with the GN but then went to the BN (you should see my dad's loco cabinet...sea o' green) and is now BNSF.

I model pretty much anything passenger. I have a B&O, Amtrak long distance, Amtrak short distance, Metra, and Alaska RR. I'm hoping to get an Auto Train and ATSF train soon.

Modern day railroading here,to find out what day I'm modeling today just look at a calender.

My Grande Valley is freelanced ,but connects with CSX,CP,and Norfolk Southern. The GVR also connects to other members of the North American Rail Alliance.

Mostly U.P. A strong presence of Santa Fe. Or maybe the other way around.

My current small N gauge layout is for fun and trying things. The layout in planning will use UP and ATSF in the transition era. I want a location where both railroads were nearby or shared trackage, but I don't want Cajon Pass (well, I do, but I don't want it in the desert southwest!). I am planning on freelancing and imaginary connection between UP & ATSF in Colorado. I'm looking at a southern route out of Kit Carson 36 miles to Las Animas, or the 97 miles from Kit Carson to just east of Pueblo. I'm leaning towards the 97 mile route because of the terrain - more rivers and valleys to play with.

This is a challenge to do in a 11 x 12 room, even in N scale. I want to keep grades to less than 1.5%, have a large engine service facility and utilize continuous running so I can work a local in between the mainline train. Tall order, no?

I haven't worked out a track plan yet, so I am WIDE open to suggestions. (Hint, hint...)

I do c&o chessie and Csx. Mine is a freelance rr based in the eastern woodlands cause I live in WV. Any road that I see around here I can deal with putting on our pike. CSX Conrail NS UP KCS BN And Chessie and C&O. The engine facility in the east end of town yeilds a good variety of motive power to choose from.

Mainly UP with a little bit of neighboring traffic (CB&Q, MP, etc.). I intend to model the transition era around 1953 or so whenever I get around to getting my layout built. I love UP's big steam and the early diesel era, maybe because it was recently gone when I was growing up. My only experience with steam was from excursion trains. I think I selected this era because I wasn't around then and I long for the "good old days."

A fictional D&RGW 'California Extension' through the northern Sierra Nevada mountains, during WWII. Trackage rights to SP, which means I can run my Rio Grande big steam and my cab-forwards at the same time without raising TOO many eyebrows, LOL! And since it's WWII and railroads are 'borrowing' motive power from each other right and left, it gives me a chance to run PRR, Burlington, Great Northern, C&O and all of my other favorite types of steam locos.
(It's fun, he said, with an evil chuckle.)

I'm modeling a freelanced New York Central, transition era. I don't own any diesels but I've picked an era where I could, I just can't bring myself to buy any.
