In Alco talk, c meant Century, 4 meant a four axle locomotive, and the last two numbers were horsepower. most GE 4 axle units rode on the same AAR type B truck as the four axle Centuries. i just want to know if I can take the Life Like u boat and put a Stweart shell on it.
I appreciate all of you that are suggesting Tiger Valley, but when I tried to get ahold of them recently, I was told they had gone out of business.
Since the c-430 was used by Reading, Conrail, PC, Susquehanna and GBW and Morristown and Erie, and L&N/ Family Lines, I'm surprised that no manufacturer wants to make a model of one. Quite a variety of railroads for just 16 of the real things!

Tiger Valley Models is still in business, they are just a little slow in answering at times at it is a single person doing all the work. He is due to the licensing mess now only doing undecorated units so you would have to build his kits, no easy task, and then paint and decal the units for youself. I would be surprised if these would be made in plastic as only 16 prototype units were.

Here is the Tiger Valley website: http://www.lynnet.com/~tigervalley/default.htm

Another choice would find and old Tyco C430 Body and Use a Hobbytown of Boston power chassis now available through Bear Locomitive. Do not use the one labeled for the C430, it will not fit use the Universal Power Chassis.

Bear Locomotive Website: http://bearlocomo.zoovy.com/

Good Luck
