My sister in law's grand father passed away and i was at his house helping clean when we came accross a magazine from 1948. It was called ideas for your home or something like that and it had projects to improve your home inexpensivley. One feature was a model railroad.it was a cabinet with one half of a layout on top and the other half could either fold down like leaves on a table or it could be removed and slide inside. It was 6 feet long and 56" wide. It was built by a guy who didn't have much room because he lived in an apartment. I just though i would sare with you all. I am actually thinking about building an N scale this way.
