I would love to see the SD40-2 in assorted roads. Also the SDL-39, F-45 in SF warbonnet colors, CP Rail "red barns" and the 20-2 autorack with see-thru panels. Also, any modern tank car, gondola or intermodal car would be great.

Of course, Tower 55 should expand into the future with modern water towers and uni-pole billboards(seen all over US highways) and modern American fire trucks and MOW vehicles.

The only thing remotely intresting they've got planned is the 3 unit gas turbine. And the cost is way the h*** out there! So its no dice.

Are the locos in the poll in consideration by Tower $$ for production depending on consumer response, or are they just for fun? I personally voted for the U30CG, but it still seems like some obscure choices (although not bad). Not being critical, just curious.

I hope they'll do some Canadian Cabs. CN GP40-2W, SD40-2W and CP SD40-2F Red Barns. I need them for good run through power. I'd rather have Kato do them though.

I agree that T55 could get a lot of customers if they produced a "general" locomotive such as the SD40-2 that was widely accepted by the RRs. I think I would rather see unique engines that other companies don't produce such as Milwaukee Road electrics.

Tower 55 might be much better, but it might well be deja vu all over again !!!

George,I fully agree with you about the SD40-2s.I would buy the older BB SD40-2 before I would buy one from a company that has not prove their self.Sure they make brass engines but,the question remains will their quality match that of Atlas,Athearn(the newer RTR and the Genesis) and of course Kato?
George,Do you remember the high hopes and then disappointment of the BLI's locomotives? That is how I see T-55.

Although a quality SD40-2 is the most needed loco in HO scale MRRing, Tower 55 won't do one - it would be too easy for Kato to re-issue theirs (with an improved electrical pickup on the Kato, which was the only main problem) and undercut them.

BLI and Athearn might also jump into the re-issue mode, although BLI would have to do major improvements, and Athearns BB/RTR is not in the same league (in fact, not even in the same galaxy!) as the Kato model.

So I will wait and wait for the Kato re-issue ......

Other than that, I would buy NOTHING that either Tower 55 has announced or has been suggested above !!!

Sorry Guys,I can't get excited about Tower55..After we have several proved manufacturers that makes quality models,Atlas,Athearn,Kato,Stewart and other like companies..IMHO we have enough manufacturers to produce the models we need with out the manufacturers tripping over their selves producing the same models..Of course we need more F7s...[}:)]

Seems to me that models such as an SD-40-2 or something like that were very common in many different railways would be best for business.

That way they can be manufactured in many more paint schemes, still be (near) prototype and would likely interest people who were looking to buy undecorated or buy and strip for their own smaller lines.

But that's just me.

Why would they do an F40? I mean, right after Kato released it...
A prototypically correct Canadian style SD40-2 would be nice, or maybe just one with different versions. I hate trying to detail them myself, as I am not good at all. Practice makes perfect, but if that practice is on $170 Katos, I'd rather not do it.

Jeff, I'll agree that building a fleet of the SD-40's would certainly take its toll on our wallets. But I do absolutely love the idea of a Green Goat - - that would be one cool model!
