Coming Events moved...
Posted by streettrains on Sunday, May 29, 2005 3:02 PM
Been meaning to ask this, what does everyone think of MRR moving there Coming events page from the magazine to the web page. Are there that many people who go check it online. I don't even think to check the page. It seemed alot easier to look in the magazine. I am wondering if it will hurt some attendances at some open house? I know the layout that I help run, the owner was concerned and the rest of the crew were too... that this might take away from people showing.

I think MRR should put it back. It wasn't taking up that much space.. and I don't think we need any more advertising pages...

what do you guys & ladies think??

if they are taking it out to have more space for ad's they should lower the price of a subscription. i don't really like their new format very much. but the mag is still the best for general model railroading. my club used to advertize for new members occasionally in that column. a couple of months ago they had the wrong date of a show that i wanted to go to and i missed it. but i think they should put it back considering that you needed a magnafying glass to read it.

There was a big thread on this not too long ago. As I said then, MR is making a mistake, and it is we, the hobbyists, that are going to suffer because of it.

I also miss it.I live in Indiana, close to Ohio and Michigan,so if I need to find out what's going on nearby I have to type in and search a lot more. Joe G.

I doubt they will before damage is done. When I complained, I received a note back a couple of weeks later that said the same thing that their editorial did. Go to the library to get your notices.

Maybe it is just me, but it seems that this month's MRR is alittle thin......

hoping they will change their minds...
