Advice for Tom Chmielewski
Posted by acgilbert on Saturday, October 26, 2002 12:03 AM
See thread on "Advice for Andy S.", to learn about suggestions to improve this slooooooow forum, which I understand you are in charge of as editor of Trains.com. Model Railroader's and Kalmbach's reputations deserve a better-designed forum, and in almost a year there has been little or no improvement despite many comments here. It shouldn't be that hard - most other forums have learned how to reduce the clutter and speed the chatter. Thanks for any help you can provide, as the content is very useful but takes forever to load even with mu DSL connection. Regard, ACG.

I posted a reply in the Advice for Andy S. thread, but I wanted to answer this one, too. Like Andy, I agree with many of the criticisms that have been posted about this forum's format. And like many of you have said in several threads over the past few month, I also believe the content here is much better than in other forums, which is thanks mostly to the participants. The criticims are well mannered and constructive, and the advice to other hobbyists has been tremendous.

I've posted in other threads that a change is coming, and I hope it's not too much longer.
