I run my trains on DC, And I have one unpowered 0-6-0 switcher which I had to de-power, thanks to the fact that it wore out.[xx(] How about the rest of you? [8D][tup]

I'm in N scale, so more engines fit into the closet!

13 Steam (3 w/ decoders)

23 Diesel (7 w/ decoders)

2 RDC (1 w/ decoder)

1 Diesel is deadlined due to a gravity storm, but has been replaced by an identical unit, 2 others are Undecs awaiting sufficient airbrushing skill on my part for a special project.

1 diesel will probably never get a decoder, 1 other is questionable. All of the steam save one are likely to get decoders.

Bunter Ridge roster (N-scale):

3 Life Like Alco FA2 (all in the painting, decoder installation process)
3 Life Like Alco FB2 (all in the painting, decoder installation process)
6 Kato Alco RS2 (3 decoder equipped)
5 Atlas Alco RSD4/5 (1 decoder equipped)
2 Kato EMD E8A
1 Kato EMD E8B
2 Atlas Baldwin VO1000 (decoder equipped)
1 Kato Alco PA1
1 Kato Alco PB1
4 Atlas Alco RS11
3 Atlas Alco RSD12

Eventually, all will be decoder equipped. The Katos are all drop-in decoders, so it is just a matter of getting them. The others require surgery of one degree or another.

I think that you should change your poll to something like:

0 to 5; 6 to 10, 11 to 20, 21 to 50, 51 to 100, more.

Your current divisions are not presenting adequate bins for the data.

Why would anyone in their right mind WANT an un-powered (dummy) locomotive? I'd rather have as many wheels as possible pulling the load....

I work in a few scales/gauges... my primary is On3- but I have branched out a bit. I do the PRR in 'N', the I.C./GM&O/T&NO in HO.Also, I'm contemplating an On30 project and have a few things there- but there just isn't room for it all!

My On3 roster is primarily D&RGW/RGS, but there are a couple Shays and a C&S Mogul...

I basically went nuts when I came back to the hobby. This return coincided with discovery e-Bay and I purchased a bunch. Bottom line is that I have far more locomotives than I can very have on the layout. Also, I am unlikely to want to spend the money installing decoders in them all. At some point they will go back to e-bay, but so far I have not been able to part with one!!
