MDC 2 Truck Shay RTR

I need to replace the light on the front of my MDC 2 truck shay. I used a grain of wheat bulb but it lights very dimmly compared to the reverse light, and it only works when I put the DCC decoder in it. Does anyone know what kind of bulb/LED is used in this locomotive.
