Bachmann 2-8-2 SY locomotive

Does anyone have a Bachmann 2-8-2 Sy locomotive. If so, do you have DCC installed. I am just wondering if you need to modify the circuit board like you do for the Shay, 2-8-0, and 4-8-2 Light Mountains that I have.

I installed the decoder and it does not seem to run as smooth, but the circuit board is different so I am not sure which capacitor would need to be removed.

Thanks,
Kevin

I thought I would answer my own post since I sat down this evening and worked on the 2-8-2. I analyzed the PCB on both the 2-8-2 and the Bachmann Spectrum 2-8-0 that I have. I had installed a TCS TH150DP decoder in the 2-8-0 and the instructions for it were very beneficial in my project.

After I checked both circuit boards I noticed they were different makes but had similar wiring. The directions for the TCS decoder said that the capacitor that connects both motor leads is the problem with the speed curve. In my 2-8-2 there were two (104 ohm?) capacitors in series. I snipped one of the leads for each capacitor and bent them out of the way. I then reinstalled the Digitrax decoder and the problem with the jerky motion dissappeared.
