You have ordered a nice engine. The directional lighting lights the headlight when you go forward, and lights up the tender back up light when you are in the reverse directlon.

The number boards are lighted also. The LED's used are very orange so I replaced the headlight LED with a sunny bright LED to make it look great.

They are very good running models.
Hope you enjoy the engine.

Hi There. I'm 14 also, and got the chance to borrow an Athearn Challenger for a few weeks. It runs B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L-L-Y, is super quiet, and the detail is so good it's unlike anything I've ever seen before. And, though you may hear otherwise, The sound system is fantastic.

I worked my BUTT off for this locomotive I only wish i had alowance.

Big boy how did you get to barrow the challenger when i have to wait until June to get mine. How does it pull and is the little Dc controller any good. I do not have dcc so that should be nice.

does the lighting change when you put it in reverse?
