N-Scale Con Cor passenger couplers
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, April 9, 2005 2:34 AM
I just bought some N Scale Con Cor currogated passenger cars with Con Cor knuckle couplers. The cars don't stay coupled. The couplers seem molded open too widely. I know they have been out for a while, so did I just get a bad batch, do I need to replace them? Anybody know if the Kato couplers will fit in the coupler pocket?

Take a close look to see if the couplers have a bit of flash on them? You could try the Kato coupler. You could also try Unimates. Works for me & I get closer coupling.

Those knuckle couplers that come on the latest C-C corrugated passenger cars are useless--on those passenger cars. Replace with Unimates or Katos if you want to keep the C-C truck or replace the whole business with MTs.

DO NOT throw away the C-C couplers--they do have other uses. They make very good nose couplers for the E-R sharks and will work nicely in other applications. They are jsut useless for the C-C corrugated cars.
