SpaceMouse - about those Overton cars
Posted by rrinker on Thursday, April 7, 2005 11:45 AM
I was paging through some back issues of MR. In October 1980 there is an article by Al Turner on kitbashing two of the MDC Overton cars to make one longer car. Looks pretty nice, not a specific model of any prototype, but a nice general 1880's feel to the design.
And nothing goes to waste - he combined the two cut ends and put a truck under it and made an 1880's version of the Walther's Piker and Oscar.

I thought about it. There was a section of a book I'm reading that dealt with it.

I believe we have new Overton Cars RTR coming out. I have a set on order. What I dont know if these are the longer cars or not yet. I'll ask my LHS on my next run.
