mantua freight cars
Posted by falk55 on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 6:10 PM
This an more of an informational question.
Are mantua cars still being made?
If not,when did they stop?
I have several with numbering prefix 739-xxx.When might these have been made?
The above mentioned cars are not of the quality from cars I have from the '60s,which in my opinion were better.
Thanks in advance.

In part, Mantua got out of the train business approx three to four years ago.
Subsequent manufacturing/distribution is be handled by www.modelpower.com 1-800-628-2803

Mantua was bought by Model Power and is still being made (in China) under the Mantua Classics line. I don't know about all, but the first Mantua release was an all-metal box car that was way, way too heavy to actually run. Check the Model Power Web site for information about what has or is going to be produced.
