Feeling good! Just won a hard to find loco on Ebay, brand new!

As many of you all know I'm modeling the 1960s time period and am a very big fan of E units.

I won a new P2K E7. So, what's the big deal as there's been loads of E7s on Ebay in the past year?

What's special is that It's a unit with the 45 degree "Box" number boards on the nose instead of the small side number boards that most P2K E7s come with. For those of you not familiar, the box number boards are the same types you find on F7s.

This is an L&N unit. While its lovely, I have plans for it already. She's getting a bath in 91% alcohol and then to be repainted and striped in Seaboard Coast Line's Black & Yellow "Bumble Bee" scheme.

Yes, the nose contours on P2K E7s are not correct but I can live with the discrepancy. I'm not a "Rivet Counter". I considered getting a BLI E7 (the nose is accurate) but at $41, I think I did pretty well!

Peace!

"I like my Pullman Standards & Budds in Stainless Steel flavors, thank you!"

Congratulations on your win. I hope it brings you many years of joy. I on the other hand had a big let down on an engine recently. I thought I was about to bid on an N scale 2-8-8-2, when in fact the seller had accidently mis-listed it, and it turned out to be an HO. I'm glad I wrote the guy and asked before I put a bid on it...

It's a great feeling isn't it! Have had a few ebay successes in recent months, best being an LGB coach last made in 1988, managed to pick one up mint and boxed. Needed this one in particular as it matches the loco I bought last year - LGB don't seem to be big on releasing the locos and matching stock in the same year!
