Your not alome all of us together would have enough unfinished stuff to stock caboose hobbies for at least a year.I'm probably in the fifty+ things yet to finish or even start category. Most of us likley start out as collecters, then we become packrats and once we realize this were usually retired then we might get some work done. There are still about a dozen HO cars in various stages of completion. There would have been more except I've sold most of my HO stuff since they been untouched for more than fifteen years.

A large collection of kits + a few to a number of scratch building supplies = Kitbash Heaven.

7 buildings, 5 cars, and 2 locos in various states of finishedness (or the distinct lack thereof). There are 3 or 4 more locos that are runnable, but need paint, details, glazing, a second coupler...

I have a blue box Athearn Mopac GP I bought over fifteen years ago still sitting on the bottom shelf. I'll get around to assembling it in the next couple of years, I'm sure. [:D]

Come to think of it, I have about five unfinished engines and about the same number of cars and building kits waiting on my undivided attention. I'll get to them after I fini***hat Mopac engine! [:o)]

About 25 cars, give or take, at least 1/2 of which I bought 10 years ago for my first layout and never got around to building. Of course, for every one I build I get a good deal on another new kit, so the to-be-built supply has stayed fairly steady as my new layout progresses.

Only unbuilt building right now is my roundhouse, but that number will increase this weekend, as my delightful and lovely bride of 20+ years has said that for my birthday this year, she's just going to take me to one of my LHSs and let me 'go crazy' (within reason) for a while. [:D]

I have about 9 laser cut wood kits, but I am making an effort to get them built. constructed a yard office over the weekend. Maybe about 20 freight car kits. Mostly Proto 2000's picked up cheap.

At least 200 car kits, of which 100 are craftsman style Tichy, Intermountain, Branchline, Ambroid, Labelle and a few Resin Kits. Also probably 50 building kits to go on the yet to be built layout.

You are a confirmed model railroader when your basement has a better selection of kits than the local hobby shop.

No kidding - Projects and ideas build up.
As my layout progresses, I feel I acquire more stuff as I go along for future use.
I did however start working on a new philosophy by doing 1 project (or part thereof) each night.
It doesn't have to be big - it can be something really minor like weathering a car or doing a small touchup to something.
That way I can sense progress.

Until recently I did not have any. Not I am buying kits to assemble later, when there might not be many being produced. Actually, I have already built some that I intended to build later.

For me it's 14 cars and 9 buildings.

Is this normal or am I just a compulsive? Each does have a place on my current or future layout.
