Looking for a copy of the John Allen railroad. I saw it years ago on VHS. I have looked in all the normal places on line. Any clue? I am using a Ilan Rice design based on John Allens Gory and Defeated (translated and probably spelled wrong) hence the wqant for the VHS or DVD. Was there also a book?

Yes there was a book, but I think it's out of print. Some of the older Model Railroaders had pictures and I think at least one had a trackplan - check the magazine index above.

There's an LHS that I frequent who has a copy of the G & D railroad on VHS. Someone else on the forum was looking for it in late December and I gave them the contact information for it. But when I was in the store a couple of weeks later, it was still there. I am not certain about the G & D video's / CD's, but the book on John Allen's GORRE & DAPHETID RAILROAD was titled: "Model Railroading with John Allen" by the late Linn H. Westcott, and published by Kalmbach... with three printings that I know of (1981, 1982, and 1985).

The book originally sold for $23.95, but try finding one for even double that amount now days ! The book is truly a treasure to own, for any model railroader.

Got the book AND the Video. The video is being rereleased the book is a sofcover original I found in Alaska (I joind the G&D chat group).
