The Allentown Scranton & Northern Railroad Company has announced today that it has purchased 8 SD70M-2's [The AS&N will call these diesels SD70Me's] from EMD in place of 8 ES40DC locomotives from General Electric. These units will wear a new paint scheme, the third since the company was formed in 1999. The Allentown Scranton & Northern owns track in 3 states and Ontario.
