Builders In Scale - still viable?
Posted by Tophias on Sunday, November 17, 2024 4:19 PM

I placed an order from Builders In Scale for tar paper roofing material (peel and stick) for some wood building kits I'm buiding. Everything seemed normal; received quickly a confirmation email. But in the email at the top it says "SORRY, my shop is CLOSED currently and moving, I hope to be back up and running this Fall of 2023 if not later.

Email me at biscrow@outlook.com for service, but please don't ask for products or favors.".
I sent an email but got no response, but it was Saturday afternoon so maybe need to hear back in a few days.  But is anyone here familiar with this company? It mentioned "Fall of 2023" so I'm concerned. Yet the web site is up and got the confirmation. Just wondering if anyone knows what's up?

Regards, Chris

You must be seeing a cashed website.  I just went to builders-in-scale.com and see the following:

NOTICE - SHOP CLOSED - IN STORAGE LIMBO

Sad to say we are NOT back in production.

Builders In Scale is in storage!

Sorry we cannot send you anything right now. We wish we could.

The tin shed deal didn't work out. Housing market is insane.
We will see what we come up with.

Meanwhile, feel free to look around. If you need some assistance, for a missing part or question, send me an email, and I will see what I can do.

I also saw a statement that the owner retired and a friend, CC Crow, stepped in and moved the business to Washington state.  I was unable to cut/paste this.

I understand the difficulties in moving a business. What I'm not understanding is if the operation is not open for business then why have the website accept orders, without any indication of when they might ship.

Regards, Chris
