Good Morning Diners. Janie, coffee and toast please.
BATMANsounds like it could be a Cruciate Ligament injury
David, don't be rash due to one individual who seems to have a problem with everything diner related. They just happened to pick your comment out of the many to attack. We've seen this behavior before from them. And I second Track Fiddler's comments. We don't want to lose you.
Rated Arrrrh! Ha ha!
Bear, great video. I've not seen that before. I do like Monty Python.

Good morning
I was, I was...
But couldn't even finish my post yesterday morning. After uploading the joke video, the site went Wanky!
Looks like ya had some fun Ray. Although my only hellicopter ride was Terrifying!!! Must have been about 7 years old or so.
We were staying at Nessers Resort (Leo) on Milelacs Lake, as we often did in the Summertime. Brainerd was only a short hop away, and Paul Bunyan amusement park.
This old Vietnam Vet gave hellicopter rides. Obviously he was an exceptional pilot and knew what he was doing. His maneuvers were quite scary yet fun at the same time for a little guy. But haven't been on another hellicopter since
Hi David, from your own list, me included. Looks like you've "Did Done Good" with friends around here,...even good 'Ol Jim chimed in.
Anywhere in life, a wrench or two is always thrown into one's equation. Finding a friendlier forum out there, might be a bit of a Challenger my friend. There's a great group in this Club.
Your a part of the good structure around here Ya might want to hang around a bit. You've hung out with us this long. Don't-cha want to know, if they ever (Fix-This-Place!)??? ...
Have a good day gentelmen

Good evening all.
Apparently I have ruffled a few feathers regarding my railway stories. Nothing to do with model railroading they said. Inasmuch Tom locked the thread at under 900 views, not allowing me to comment. Since being locked nearly a further 800 views?
Now a jokey comment in the Diner is unacceptable.
Therefore it is time I moved on to a more friendly Forum.
Thanks, Mike, John(York), TF, Ed, Brent and Mr B and off course Bear and Brother Lion for making me welcome in the Diner; and also those in WPF (a great thread).

Hi Everyone,
David: There's always going to be a malcontent no matter where you go. I hope you will reconsider and continue to post on this forum. I have enjoyed your posts even though I don't Always comment on them. Think of the good friends you have here. Post for them if nothing else.
Now, for a slight attempt at levity.
Why couldn't the little boy see the pirate movie?
wait for it
'Cause it was rated, Arrrrrh!

I cannot afford the luxury of a negative thought
Good morning from the sunny left side. There are 103 fires currently burning in the Province.
Mike, sorry to hear about your dog, sounds like it could be a Cruciate Ligament injury.

If it is a Cruciate injury and if it needs surgery, get it done by a Veterinary surgeon (specialist)
Have to take the boss to Vancouver for a medical appointment today. Always nice to visit big town on a beautiful day.
Ice maker is working, YIPPEE!!!!!! I came down at 0500hrs and my daughter was up all night at the kitchen table doing school work and said she could hear the cubes dropping into the hopper all night long. The manual says it makes 126 cubes every 24 hours.
Best get at it.
All the best to all.

Howdy Diners. Flo, coffee with a little something mixed in.
Worried this morning. Our dogs went tearing out of the house last night about dinner time, chasing after something in the yard. Probably a squirrel. As they trickled back in we discovered my dog is refusing to put any weight on his left rear leg. Still the same way this morning and clearly experiencing plenty of discomfort. Taking him in at 1:30 this afternoon to get looked at. We had a similar thing happen years ago. Again it was my dog. Again sudden refusal to put weight on a rear leg (pretty sure it was the left one then as well). That one turned out to be bone cancer. We had to put her down shortly after. Praying this isn't the same thing playing out.
Ray, a helicopter ride would be a lot of fun!
Brent, is the ice maker fixed?
Mr. B, glad the cats are okay. Not a good feeling to discover something like that.
Looking back over the diner posts this month, seems I only see one person posting anything resembling an overreaction. No, it wasn't David. Most everything I've seen has been standard diner conversation. It does raise the question though that if someone consistently doesn't like the diner, why do they keep coming back? It's kind of like the definition of insanity - continuing to try the same thing something over and over and expecting different results. Why would somebody do that to themselves?

This is a model railroad forum. Bringing up the subject and complaining about politicians and comparing it to the 1930's is a dramatic overreaction.

My only helicopter ride was on Kuaii, just a sightseeing trip but magnificent nevertheless. On the one hour trip, we saw most of the island from the air, including waterfalls, volcanos and the scenes where Jurassic Park was filmed. We had a train ride in Hawaii, too, a tourist ride on the "Sugar Train." Unfortunately, that was half destroyed by the fires there. The trains, I believe, were all moved away from the fire, but the station and turntable didn’t make it.
The Sugar Train was closed down earlier for economic reasons. There are rumors the trains will be sold elsewhere. I'm sorry to see it go.
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.
Ray, looks like great fun. If you ever want something different to do, go take some lessons and get some stick time. You don't have to get your licence but just the thrill of flying an aircraft is exhilarating and you can do that by taking a few lessons........
Getting my pilot's license and ripping around the sky was one of the best things I ever did. I have been in many helicopters and they are just as much fun as planes.
Got lots of rides in this.
Hi guys!
I got HIGH today! Well only a few hundred feet off the ground in this, but it was fun!
We went up over and along the coastline of Lake Ontario , then came back to the airpirt over mostly farmland. Amazing how it feels like you are almost standing still when fly in that at 90mph and more....
Fun ride!

We'll get there sooner or later!
Mr. B, glad to hear things turned out on the cat front, it can be terrifying when something like that happens. Local wildlife can make short work of a stay-at-home cat.
A friend's indoor Persian cat went missing and a bunch of us all went to help look for it, unfortunately, I found its remains on a trail in the forest. Its two front feet were all that were left sitting there like a pair of shoes. What do you do but pick them up and take them to the owner, that was a lousy day.
Went for another good scoot today with a different dog, nothing like ripping through the forest with a best friend. I have never not had a dog and can't imagine not having one.
Almost a disaster this morning. I guess someone left the door ajar on our elevated deck. I noticed the dog had gotten out, but then wondered about the cats. The dog can go out, but the cats are strictly indoor cats and haven't been out by themselves since we got them. Little Snowflake is about 6 and Whisley is 3. They don't seem to want to to go out, either.
So when I saw Snowflake out on the deck at the top of the stairs, I was worried. Fortunately, she calmly walked over and back inside. I looked for Whiskey, but he was in the bedroom hiding under the bed. Close, but all present and accounted for. I'm a cat person, and they're my two best friends around here. Yeah, I feed them.
We're in a small community, but right next to the water. They could get lost. We do have foxes and raccoons, so I'd rather have them inside where they're safe.
Good morning from the edge of the Salish Sea. There are currently 106 fires burning in the Province.
Bear, I also find that photo of Hope B.C. fascinating with a lot to look at. On a side note, Hope was where Rambo was filmed. The Othello Tunnels are at Hope and that is where the cliff/canyon shots were filmed.

Dave, have you been sprung from the hospital yet? I remember you saying you flew up the coast in a Beaver on one of your trips out here and your wife is on her way back out for a visit to Haida Gwaii.
Here is a video of an 71-year-old Beaver landing in Vancouver, maybe it was the one you were on, there are still a lot of them around though.
Best go put the refrigerator back together.....Fingers crossed. I remember when I was flying I would love to do a low pass up the harbour. It always scored points with the ladies.
I see signals!
Track fiddler NorthBrit I shall get out my old tin hat, my kilt and bagpipes. I shall be ready for any invaders. No tin hat over here David, but have my Kilt & Tam layed out, the Pipes also ready. Let me know if anything hits the fan... TF

Glad your Hudson can be fixed Brent. Can you imagine how finicky that driver arm on an N scale could be...
MisterBeasley My ice maker stopped working. I forget how I diagnosed the problem, but it wasn't the ice maker at all. Instead it was the valve down on the floor that fed the ice maker. It was a small part and easy to fix.

We are still getting water out of the dispenser so that is likely not the problem. We never had a problem with it until we recently had a couple of hundred people through the house because of my son's wedding. I think it just got overwhelmed trying to keep up. I would bet it will return to normal once I put it back together tomorrow.
Well, I got the ice maker removed and taken apart from the fridge, now the question is, is it broken or just frozen up? I will let it and the fridge thaw until tomorrow.
It stopped raining and the Sun came out and I was out the door in seconds with our 10 Month old pup and we motored.
Now I am just waiting for a call from my favourite accountant as she had a hearing with the tax man about an Estate I am dealing with.
The wife just asked how big a steak I want, I have lots of wiggle room on the calorie front today.
Good morning from the wet West Coast where there are 109 fires currently burning in the Province.
Got my Rapido D-10 on the way back to Rapido for repair, apparently the broken part has been an issue and a new stronger part is available. They offered to send me the part and said it was an easy fix, but there are only so many hours in a day and it looked like a finicky job I would rather avoid. For the cost of a stamp, it is on its way.
Water Level Route I can't imagine the UK is gearing up for war.
Depending on what happens at the end of the year a massive reorganization of NATO may be taking place and with that possibility looming preparations are well underway. I don't think we are at a place of worrying about war.
As far as having emergency supplies on hand we are good to go. We could last a long time and if we run out, there are rivers and creeks close by at our disposal and food is often sleeping on our front lawn in the mornings. The most important thing is we can run our generator for a long time if need be and that means I can still run my trains.
Here we see some signals under the eaves on the station, not being up on my signals and thinking this station would be a flag stop, would the light on the top be for "flag stop" purposes?
The job jar is filling up, I had better lower the level.

Not Brexit, Mike. It is the 1930s again.
The UK government simply suggested people should have 3 days supplies in case of emergencies, and gave an example of power outages and flooding.

Good Morning Diners. Janie, coffee and a big piece of coffee cake please.
Dave, I cannot believe the adventure you've had in the hospital. Incredible.
would it be possible to install a “keep alive” into the Forums software??!!
Happy Monday everyone.
Good morning Diners and those who like hospital corridors.
A coffee on the go please, Flo.
What with politicians and the like wanting to bring back Natonal Service and now told to stock up on tinned food, I shall get out my old tin hat, my kilt and bagpipes. I shall be ready for any invaders.
The grandchildren are back at school, so the Brownie run with younger granddaughter is on today.
