It depends on the manufacturer of the product. Either it would say on the label or you may have to look at their website.

Hey Wolfman,  Gosh, I fondly recall catching 'Wolfman Jack' on the late night radio-skip back in the 60s, but I digress.

Though not recommended by Tamiya I just recently experimented airbrushing their XF acrylic paint thinned with distilled water,  one test piece thinned 50/50, the other 2-1, both good.  Looking for the most friendly topcoat for some 'hairspray chipping' went with 50/50 on the model.  The hardiness of the paint long-term is a question, but the model won't see much handling and got a coat of Dullcote after the 'chipping'.

Regards, Peter

I agree. I often make adjustments "on the fly" to meet the need. I usually do a test on a piece of wood first, then either add distilled water or paint to the mix, depending on the whether I need it to be thinner or thicker.

I use Tamiya Acrylic paints and I used Tamiya Acrylic Paint Thinner. I choose not to use distilled water. The mixing ratio that I use is 2:1 paint:thinner.
