Good morning, diners. I would like some of Bear's food, but from experience, I want to be sure to pick out something bland from that Thai food.
A busy day today. I will be glad when it's all over.
I'm still undecided how I want to run the new track on the layout. Until I can decide, I won't tear out what I have. I just know I'm not happy with it the way it is. Some careful planning and drawings are needed.
The good news in changing the layout is that I will be required to visit Spring Creek model railroad store and spend quite a bit of money. I like that part of upcoming weeks.
Henry, I checked out those lighted collars for the dog. I hadn't thought of that. I may order one just to see how it works.
TF, it looks like some painful issues with your hand. I finished the house painting last week. Once the siding on the top of the fireplace chase had been replaced, the rest of the job was fairly easy. The last part of the outdoor work after the lights is to clean the chimney. Each fall, I get up to the top of the chimney, connect some fiberglass rods together to get about sixteen feet with a brush, and clean the flue. Again, not fun but necessary.
Kevin, enjoy the cool weather while you can. That's a nice change for your part of the state.

Track fiddlerThe Bear told me a while back, If you don't have small insignificant injuries, or a few bloody fingers, you're not working hard enough in a day. Well, He said something like that,
"One difference between pessimists and optimists is that while pessimists are more often right, optimists have far more fun."
Late evening again
You know how the 'Rack' needs to be hit by 11:59 at the very latest, or your carriage will turn into a pumpkin I'd prefer 11:00 at best... most usually
The Bear told me a while back, If you don't have small insignificant injuries, or a few bloody fingers, you're not working hard enough in a day.
Well, He said something like that, ... and either there is a problem over here, or I'd have to concur
OUCH! AND OH WELL!
That picture is not something that's mocked up
The hard wxxk pays off with some girly goodies for the Misses, and a few Choo Choo's for me And that's all I'll have to say about that

It has been cold outside the last couple of days, very unseasonable.
I don't think it is enough to end the hurricane season, but it has been a noticeable change.

Living the dream.
How's it going John? A Big Job indeed, and quite remembered. My question to you Kid, is did you finish painting the house yet?
York1This is National Raise Awareness for Squirrels day!
I wonder who is not aware of squirrels?
So many questions...
Richard great trip

We have a dairy farm across the street from our neighborhood. Last night I was grilling pork tenderloin on the Big Green Egg and flies were hovering around the screen door. I killed at least a dozen outside but coming and going inside some snuck in. So far this morning we have killed 6 inside.
We also have the Spotted Lanternfly from China. They appear sporadically but if you see one, you will see a half dozen.

John, good luck with the tree stump. They're never fun to dig out.

Good morning, everyone. Bacon, eggs, and black coffee, please.
Today is stump day. I'm going to dig around the stump of the maple tree I cut down last week and work to cut the stump out. Not easy, but it's a challenge. I sure miss that tree.
I'm going to do a little work on the layout to make sure at least one train will run. I have some more out-of-town guests staying with us next week, and everyone always wants to see something on the layout running.

Have a great Wednesday, everyone. This is National Raise Awareness for Squirrels day! I didn't realize they needed awareness. They seem to thrive around here, whether or not we are aware of them.
Good Morning Diners. Chloe, bacon, eggs, and coffee please.
Have to report for jury duty this morning. Maybe I won't get picked to serve, but that's not usually my luck. Hopefully it's something interesting.
MisterBeasleyA few years ago we put outdoor floods on our new screened-in deck. They aimed the floods too high, and we got complaints about it from across the marsh, a quarter-mile away.
I have eight dual-bulb flood lights around the house, all are on independent motion sensors.
The three out back just point at the wall of Areca Palms, no problems there. The two on the sides of the house point almost straight down, so no one gets a glare from them.
The three out front are pointed more towards the road, so someone might be annoyed by those.
A few years ago we put outdoor floods on our new screened-in deck. They aimed the floods too high, and we got complaints about it from across the marsh, a quarter-mile away. We lowered the lights and put them on a motion detector. The dog does not go out alone, and the cats never even try to go outside.
Our grocery stores here are kind of generic and not particularly good. We buy our meat at a butcher shop, our fish at a fishmarket and our produce at a vegetable stand. In Delaware we can't even get beer or wine in supermarkets. We have a problem here with retail shopping because we're basically a summer beach resort area and the population really drops when the beaches close.

York1My wife wants some lights for the backyard so she can keep track of the new dog. It means running a new line through parts of the attic.

Good morning everyone. Chloe, a ham and cheese sandwich and a bag of pretzels please.
I just saw a list of the most expensive grocery stores in the USA. Publix was #6 on the list.
I will continue to shop there. For the time being anyway.
What you pay for is slipping as they continue to expand. Customer service and cleanliness are both sliding quite a bit lately.
The chain is nothing like it was fifteen years ago. It is still the best, but that is a pretty low bar in the grocery business right now.
Good morning. Bacon, eggs, and coffee please.

Utah has such great places to visit. What's also nice is that they are all fairly close together and easy to get to. You had a great trip!
I'm just about finished with home projects before winter, and I can start again on the layout! I'm probably going to undo part of what I've built already, and reroute the double mainline.
One bad thing, the new work means I will have to rebuild a bridge I made. I am going to try to salvage as much of the bridge as possible.
Time to head outside to cut more branches. Then I need to get up into the attic to put in some new backyard outside lights. My wife wants some lights for the backyard so she can keep track of the new dog. It means running a new line through parts of the attic. I don't like working up there -- I always ache after crawling around in the attic.
Our old dog did not venture into the farther reaches of the backyard. This dog immediately goes out to those areas, and my wife wants the entire yard lit up.
Have a great day, everyone.

RideOnRoad In four days we visited—
Wow!
That was really an effort to hit all that in such a short time.
We just got back from an out-of-town weekend visiting grandchildren. I'm tired of driving -- it's quite a ways for a weekend.
I'll check in later and read what I missed from the diners. It's happy hour right now.
My flight was on the Memphis Belle. There was an open hatch behind thre top turret and you could stick your head out and look around.
This B17 was lost in the war, it hit "Bomber Mountain" in the Big Horn mountains in WY. My sons and I had a memorable trip backpacking to the site. The wreck wasn't discovered until after the war. Another 100' and they would have made it, but they were 100 miles off course on their way to Texas. The tire, aside from the damage by souvenier hunters, looked brand new.
The GF and her ex actually got a flight in an old B-17 once, arranged by a friend who was a part-time crew member. They loved the flight.
Unfortunately, it was the same plane that was lost at the Dallas Air Show about a year ago. Their friend was not aboard that day, but he knew the crew.

Good morning all... time to get ready for work.
Just popped in to say hello, thanks ofr keeping the lights on.
Good Morning Diners. Chloe, coffee please.
Henry that flight must have been amazing! I got to tour a B-17 on the ground and it was incredible. The flights were a little out of my price range at the time though. Heck, they might be still. Haven't seen one in a while. I got to watch it take off and do a fly by. What a neat machine.
My youngest had homecoming this weekend and it went off without a hitch. Seems like there is always some sort of drama with these sorts of things, but not this time. I'll take it. The only real negative was the weather. Wet and cold all weekend, but what do you expect in October?
BigDaddyThe stool DNA tests are not recommended for people with a history of polyps or a family history of colon cancer. Makes me wonder how good the are.
Yeah, I never got to fly in one.
That must have been a thrill!
SeeYou190I toured the “Movie Memphis Belle” in Tampa. I was amazed how narrow the airplane was at the waist gunner’s positions. When seen in real life, it is obvious why the openings had to be staggered.
Good morning everyone. Chloe, I would like an egg salad sandwich this morning, thanks.
