Having previously voiced my frustration with Trains.com, and had the post removed, I'm problably treading on thin ice with this post.
From my desktop PC, so it's not an iPad issue, I tried to download the new May 2022 MR. After about a 10 minute download it finally appeared. Slow, but at least I got it. So with that success under my belt, I tried to download the Spring 2022 Classic Trains. After 45 minutes of the "spinning wheel" nothing has downloaded using Firefox. Thinking it might be a Firefox issue I downloaded and installed Chrome. With a fresh browser, I tried again to download the Spring 2022 Classic Trains - same thing - endless spinning wheel. This proves it can't be the "clear the browser cache" issue that is the only advice that Kalmbach tech support has ever given.
At this point I'm seriously condsidering dumping Trains.com and buying indivdual subscrptions through Zino (which I thought you could no longer do, but I did a magazine search on their website and it's listed).
Is anyone else having these problems? Does anyone know if Kalmbach is looking at revamping the Train.com site?

Out of continued frustration - tried to download the new Classic Trains for over an hour; I bit the bullet and subscribed to Trains, MR and Classic Trains via Zinio. Fast downloads, readable from iPad, and better magnification that Adobe downloads. Much faster access to past issues. Cost for all three subscriptions was $91/yr. Very slightly more than Trains.com but without the videos. Now I have to decide if the Trains.com videos (which download fine) are worth the price of Trains.com. With all the videos on YouTube that may be a tough call.
If you're only interested in the digital magazines, I'd highly recommend Zinio.

I don't. I refuse to use a program that would require that. If that's required, then it's a programming problem that they need to correct. Of interest though, is that I installed Chrome and the first thing I did was try to download from the archives. There couldn't be anything in the cache since it was a brand new installation.

I had problems trying to download their online version of The 20th Century video a couple of years ago and i was really disappointed with their efforts to resolve it to the point that i cancelled my order and got the physical dvd from a 3rd party.
The magazines - the back-issues i order - have been very reliable on the Zinio platform.

I don't need to download them to read them, just go to the archive and click on the issue and read it? It comes up instantly?
I use Chrome.
So just as a test, I clicked the PDF download link, had the PDF open in about 10 seconds, and downloaded it to my desktop nearly instantly.

Sheldon, I'm trying to determine if the problem is with my browser or internet, or if it's a universal problem that others are also happening. Based on the replies so far, it appears to be the former.
I have a mediocre internet service with AT&T - over the air, not fiber. Other programs/sites manage OK. Getting Starlink set up this week, so we'll see if that changes the results.

If you PING trains.com it will time out
If you TRACERT trains.com it will show the hops but will time out before it completes. I do not know where in the chain it times out, at Trains.com or somewhere else.
If I try to paste the results of PING or TRACERT here the post is Forbidden 403.
But all other posts go through copesthetically.
If you are getting tossed out just connecting to trains.com, then maybe your browser or computer is set to validate the site before it continues.
If I try to connect via the IP number my computer refuses it since the certificate is issued to trains.com and not to the IP number.
So go figgure. I will contact my ISP tomorrow to get his take on the issue.
