Has anyone heard anything about Hobbylinc? None of their webpages seem to work.

I'm guessing (and hoping) it's just a technical issue. I get most of my on-line stuff from them - in fact, just had a delivery last week.

Really good company to order from.  Haven't had any issues.

I recently received an order. I have purchased supplies from this online company for several years / excellent service most all the time.

I placed an order with them on 30 October. For nearly a week the status was that they were pulling the order from their warehouse. Then it changed to packing for shipment.

Just a few minutes ago I got a message saying they could only fill part of the order, because they didn't have enough stock.

It took nine days to figure this out?

I actually called Hobbylinc this morning to inquire about availability of an item. Talked to a fella at in. Customer Service. So, Hobbylinc is alive and well.

I've purchased lots of stuff from Hobbylinc. I've been very happy with the prices and selection. The only pet peeve I have is how long it takes for them to "pull stuff from their warehouse." I suspect their warehouse is in China (not kidding).

I'm open to trying other suppliers, but I've had problems with the ones I have tried, so I've pretty much stayed with HL.

Perhaps even farther away. I placed an order on November 9th. If I am lucky, it will be delivered on November 18th. That is a long time to process and ship an order.

I have ordered 4 items from them and received them.

They clearly state on their website there is 2-3 business days processing before shipping.

Recently, I ordered 2 items from them, two days  before Veterans day on November 9th. I knew it would not ship until after November 11, even though they stated it would, because the 11th is a Sunday. However, they did create the shipping label that day. The order "actually/physically) shipped on Monday the 12th as I expected and is due to arrive today November 17th. Thus, 8-9 days total to receive.

I am not complaining, as they are upfront about the 2-3 business days and some other online vendors do as well.

There is actually an advantage of ordering from "slow shippers" like hobbyinc, as most modelers shy away from slow shippers and it results in the vendor having many items in stock that the faster vendors do not have in stock.

For example, there is one vendor I do business with that is lightning fast and as a result has a hard time keeping items in stock because so many people order from them. When that happens I always go to hobbyinc, because odds are they will have it in stock.

Thus, I have no issues with hobbyinc and its been a good experience.

Unfortunately, in my experience it's seven to ten business days to process the order. I ordered on October 30. After a couple days their order status page said they were pulling the order from their warehouse. A couple days after that it said the order was being packed. After two or three days with that message, I got an email (8 November) saying that while they were pulling the order they discovered didn't have sufficient stock, and asked what to do.

I followed the instructions in the email and modified the order to get what was in stock. It shipped the next day, and the refund for the remainder was promptly processed. There was not a reduction in shipping and handling charges to reflect the reduced size of the order, but I didn't expect there would be.

Maybe I just hit them at a really busy time, or maybe someone was under the weather for a few days. But filling and shipping the order was slower than they said it would be, and the order status on their website was inaccurate.

I got the order a couple days ago.

Other than the slightly irritating delay and inaccurate order status, everything was fine. Their prices are good. I will order from them in the future, and just plan for a couple weeks before I receive the order.

Kalmbach could save band width if they'd just install Like buttons for me.

I've ordered from them at least a dozen times in the past and have had no issues at all.  It was usually 7-12 days to receive my order. If it's taking longer it's to be expected since that is the way it is now in general

Yep, sometimes they have odd delays etc. When I consider they are only 3 short states away from where I live, compared to other vendors they would be considered slow.

But, like I said if they adn other vendors have what I want in stock I always go with the fastest shipper, and only go with them for items no one else has left in stock.

They are not perfect, but still I would give them a B. Comparatively, I give Model Train Stuff and Lombard Hobbies as well as Trainworld all A+.

If there are items I specifically need I send them an email and ask to check inventory. They usually get back to me in a day or so. Like so many mail order joints, I try to consolidate orders and get enough to offset any shipping costs.

I generally buy various cements (Faller and Tamiya) and paints from them. While shopping around for Tamiya Surface Primer (aerosol) I found they had the best price of $8.80 a can. Other sellers were in the neighborhood of $11-14. I usually get 6 to 10 cans of each color so a little savings is good.

They have been good at stocking Evergreen styrene which is handy. As I recall, too, a few years ago rattle can Dullcote was hard to find but Hobbylink seemed to have a good supply and at a decent price. Back then, anyway.

Regards, Ed

I've not ordered from them in years.  I get stuff from MB Klein in MD, which is across the river from me in VA.

I have used Hobbylinc since getting back into the hobby a few years ago as well as MB Klein. Always a positive experience with Hobbylinc. Actually, gearing up for a layout expansion I recently placed a substantial order with Hobbielinc and they had everything I needed, good pricing, and arrived in 7 days.  I feel the fast click world drives immediate expectations and I am happy to order from and support hobby focused companies like Hobbylinc and deal with what are really reasonable turn around times.
