Welcome to SHOW ME SOMETHING for October. I was hoping someone else would open this thread, but we are over twelve hours into a new month, so here we go...
This is a picture of a boxcar I built from a Westerfield kit. It was the first resin kit that I built where I was happy with the results. I am not going to use it on the new layout because it has a prototype roadname, but I cannot get rid of it either. It will be destined for a display case at some point.
Please show me one of your favorite models that you do not use on your layout (often).

This little 0-4-0 is for photo-prop service only. It will never operate on the layout. It is an unpowered model built from an old Hobbyline kit.

Blac River Valley RR #1116 is the only home road loco on the layout. It has an Athearn body shell and an MRC chassis. Although it is quite serviceable it does't see much run time on the layout.

This PRR FF1 is a beautiful model of a unique prototype but I didn't realize until it arrived that it had very narrow, maybe code 88?, tire width. As a result it does not track well and only gets run on rare occasions.

The owner of a nearby hobbyshop (now closed) got two kits from an estate sale for the loco shown. He asked me to build one of them as a gag for a British-born friend, but wanted it lettered for the TH&B...
The TH&B's two Hudsons (acquired from the New York Central) were numbered 501 and 502, hence the 503 on this non-powered (but roll-able) model.

Here's the New York Central "tri-power" Diesel, electric, battery locomotive:

It was designed to operate in the warehouses on the West Side of New York where third-rail or diesel fumes were not an option. The six-cylinder Ingersoll engine could power the traction motors or charge the batteries. A third rail pickup shoe would allow for 600 V. DC operation and the battery power would be useful for about three hours of operation before needing a charge.

I just got an original lionel 2026 locomotive from 1948 I dont know how to upload a picture but I did wax the engine and it looks practically new. the smoke unit is really nice too.

It might look like a boxcar...
...but with roof hatches and longitudinal discharge hoppers under the floor, it's actually an early version of a covered hopper. It's one of four scratchbuilds.
