Bowser RS 3
Posted by BigDaddy on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 5:31 PM

I can't remember how long it has been since I canceled my  preorder with Trainworld.

Bowser is finally getting close.  They posted their pre-production WM and Pennsy RS 3's on their facebook page. If you don't belong to Facebook you won't be able to see it.  They do have unpainted samples on their website.

There are clear defects in the WM decaling, but it's preproduction.

Trainworld used to show an expected date of delivery, but they no longer do so.  Not that it has been correct for the last 3 years.  Maybe I do want one.

Oh what the heck,  Bowser wants to sell them, they shouldn't mind.  MR needs to solicit them for an ad instead of Ulriching me.

I have one of the Erie Lackawanna engines "preordered".

I'd really like to see Bowser offer the New York Central variants that had the air reservoir moved to the top of the long hood:

I cobbled one together using a Proto-1000 base:

I have three PRR ones on order.  Since it looks like the delivery of them is getting closer, I will be getting rid of my Atlas ones soon.

Even before you test out the new ones?

If they run as good as the SD40-2's I do the same.

I have a Bowser VO 1000 with factory loksound and if I wanted 3 RS-3's I wouldn't hesitate.

Sure any individual engine might have problems, like the Rapido RS-18?  But in the world of pre-ordering, you may not be able to find 2 more in your desired roadname if you wait too long.

Yep.

Well that sure demonstrates a high level of trust and confidence in Bower.

Not sure that I could, or would, do that.

I like Bowser, but I wouldn't do it.

I also have a Bowser VO 1000, and it is very nice.

Mind you, I wasn't putting down Bowser pre-orders. My point was that I would not rush out to sell a similar locomotive following a pre-order before ever even seeing it or testing it.
