Anymore trucks and boxcars/rail cars

A couple of forklift truck operators take a break after loading the boxcar in the background with crates full of model railroad supplies:

Rich: "Why stop now? Show me another background or backdrop scene."

The red brick building rear right is a Walthers background building. the smaller red brick buildings to its immediate left are printed images on foam board. The tall buildings in the center background and behind General Industries (Walthers Background BLDG.) are cut from a photo background, mounted on foam board to give them depth and then overlapped, in some cases. the scene is at the east end of the BRVRR layout.

More background scenes, please.

Remember its your railroad

Another scene with any kind of background building on or in front of the backdrop.

The structure in the background is from KingMill.  It's on fairly heavy paper, cemented to .060" sheet styrene....

...and behind the roundhouse is another KingMill backdrop structure, curved to fit nicely into the coved-corner of the layout room...

A little history.

Between 1914 and 1918  Number 1 (Shell) Filling Station at Barnbow, Leeds  had a facility to house cattle to feed the staff on the site.   Therefore Kirkstall & East Seacroft Railway needed cattle trucks to convey cattle to Barnbow.

Here on the left is one such K&ESR  cattle truck

Next  -  Any other 'real item'  in model form

Another livestock train.

I cannot do a whole train. I only have one livestock car painted for my railroad. This was built from a Central Valley kit.

Show me another stock car please.

There is lots of coal here being pushed around by a very dirty dozer.

More metal-sided structures please.  Regards, Peter

I think when it comes to metal sided structures, the Walthers New River Mining Company is pretty iconic.

This one is an N scale version on the Athens Bend Track modular layout.

Garry had a neat coal thread... show me a freight car loaded with coal!
