Garry: Those bachmann 4-8-2s are nice. Mine runs perfect, but it is missing the valve gear on the left side. It was like that when I bought it. I have since bought two brass USRA locomotives and I have not decided what to do with the Bachmann model. I might just run it counter-clockwise around the layout.
snjroyThey say that there is no worst sound than a brass loco hitting the floor (was it a Rob Sprangler quote?),
Simon: In his book, Dan Glasure said the sound of a brass locomotive hitting the floor was the second worst sound in the world.

Living the dream.
Rick, these CPs look terrific.
Harrison, it's nice to see that you are making progress.
Kevin, nice shot of lovely weathered loco.
Garry, I also have a Bachmann 4-8-2. I agree, a good and sweet-looking runner although a bit finicky on my track.
I will be retiring in a few months (well, pre-retirement. Who knows if I will ever retire...), and I bought myself a 3 brass loco present. Three Canadian icons (D10, Selkirk and CN Northern) that I bought locally, from the grandson of a hobbyshop owner that I remember from back in the day. Saw the add in Marketplace, total fluke.

I will need to install DCC, but that's part of the fun. I also made a change to my still-in-construction layout. They say that there is no worst sound than a brass loco hitting the floor (was it a Rob Sprangler quote?), so I installed netting in my framework to catch those who were tempted to make the big leap...

Rick ..... Thanks for starting Weekend Photo Fun. The PRR coal hopper looks exceptionally nice. The 60' boxcar looks like you have anopther fun project. I really like the Canadian Pacific F-units !
Harrison .... Gald to see you are building a layout. Thanks for sharing the video.
Kevin .... I like the S&G steam switcher. Interesting load on the flat car.
....
Here are my Bachmann 4-8-2 Mountain Type locomotives. On the left is one painted to be Great Northern, and on the right is one painted to be Burlington. These models are reliable and smooth running.

Rick: Thank you for getting Weekend Photo Fun started for us this week. Your CANADIAN PACIFIC F units are absolutely beautiful. That has always been one of my favorite colour schemes.
Harrison: Congratulations on the progress. I am very excited for you, and a little bit jealous. Hopefully it won't be too long before my layout is underway.
I have nothing new this week. Here is an old picture of my favorite scrap load:
Rick- awesome CP F units, I saw them in my town on the OCS a few years ago, very nice units.
I have been slowly working towards having a layout as usual. The foam is now glued on the first section.

Arrohead Models PRR H39 Hopper Car kit, The PRR settled on this car as the replacement for the H21 Hopper car after experimenting with the H35 and H36 Classes. Over 16,000 of these cars were built to haul coal on the PRR. Car was painted with Scalecoat II PRR Freight Car Red and lettered with a couple of Herald king decal sets for the proper lettering for a repainted car. All the H39;s were painted black, but some shop painted this car in red, and this car down to the car number replicates the picture in Teichmoller's book on PRR hoppers.
Intermountain PS 60' Boxcar kit, completed this week, will hit the paint shop this weekend and be decaled during the week.
A few weeks ago I showed a picture of my new F7B, well here it is with the FP7A;s with a passenger train on the Strongsville Club Layout.
Thanks for looking,
