Is "Train Engineer Revolution" the same as "Crest Revolution". For some reason I thought Crest Revolution went out of business a few years ago (I could be wrong) but I see "Train Engineer Revolution" now. Are these products related? Am I mistaken that Crest Revolution went out of business a few years back? Have they maybe been picked up and revived? I also recall Aristo Revolution.

Train Engineer has been around for years, once a product of Lewis Polk's Aristo Craft.
Aristo-Craft formed a new arm "Crest" to market the various electronic products.

Crest was then sold to Precision RC in 2017 and they continued to market the present-day Crest T-E Revolution. I've used several variations of the original Train Engineer since the late 1990s and they were a great throttle in their day. I still use it in the garden railroad.

Train Engineer Revolution uses Zigbee in the 2.4GHz band (specifically 2.45). Here is a page with technical information:

It is difficult to figure out whether the 'power electronics' Web site is legitimate, or just geared mostly to wholesale accounts. Apparently you have to register before you can access manuals, tech content, or support access... register before you can tell what is actually available. I don't do that, but someone of greater boldness can see what might happen...
My suspicion is that to make this an actual 'networked' product, and to get to full DCC overlay compliance, a more recent architecture will have to be adopted, particularly if it is to work as a wireless bridge or protocol translator for DCC. They don't play well together, none of their produvts ever did, very proprietary.

I still use the old Aristo/Crest 10 channel Train Engineer throttles.
I bought one of the original Revolution throttles when Aristo first introduced it. Never got around to trying it out, later sold it.
It is hard to say what might be going on with this, it was always mainly a large scale product. I don't follow large scale.
But clearly someone took over this product and is trying to do something.
Even though I have 10 of the older 10 channel Train Engineer throttles, and like them, I will admit Aristo was always short on technical information. Most of what I know about the ones I use I learned from people like Greg Elmassian who did research or knew people inside Aristo, and shared info on the web.
