That actually sound like a good treat right now.

Yes, absolutely! I like spicy stuff but only within reason. My brother and sister-in-law are really into hot food. They were in Thailand a few years ago on a tour and they asked their guide if they could eat with him and the locals instead of having the diluted tourist food. The guide was happy to oblige. They had a great time with the guide and the locals and they both had some of the greatest food ever in their lives. Apparently they like to sweat!

I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!

I know what you mean. My little sister likes food about 100 times hotter than I can stand. I don't know how she can eat with her face all red and sweaty and say she is enjoying her meal.

Hi Kevin,
I'll bet she knows the words to Johnny Cash's song too! Don't ask her! That could be a case of too much information!!
Speaking of Diners
A pair of the recent Rapido models just arrived for my little people to nosh in!

Good morning
Intercepted Charlie. It was a beautiful seasonable 24 F day yesterday. Now it's -1 F and clear as a bell.
I have some reading to catch up with here.
I came home from wxxk last night, plopped in the recliner with my Feb. MR issue. I woke up with my magazine on the floor and moved to the rack. Not even a Friday night beer. I guess I was tired.
It sadding me to here Neil Peart died yesterday. I always liked Rush. Especially the old stuff. Rush Caress of Steel my favorite. (Lakeside Park)
No work today but I have to run a work errand
Have a great morning all! Catch up with ya later

Good morning, everyone. Not much snow, but very cold.

Ed, the details on that dining car are amazing.
I'm with you. I do like "Red Devil" from Louisiana. It seems to add a lot of flavor without making the food too hot to eat. The factory is a pretty neat place to visit if you ever take a trip out into the swamps of southern Louisiana.
There's not much going on today. I finished my house wiring project, so I guess I can turn back to the layout today. I'm not really enthused right now. Maybe when I get started, I can get some energy back.
I did my wife a favor (a big favor) and went with her to the movie, "Little Women". She woke me up one time, but gave up on me. "Little Women" was not my idea of a great night at the theater. Even my wife said this version was not very good compared to some of the earlier versions. Oh, well, I gained a few percentage points by taking her to see it.
Have a good Saturday, everyone.

Good morning!
We seem to be missing winter this year. It's in the low 60s today and tomorrow. Even for Delaware, this is unseasonably warm. We did have a touch of snow last month, and some freezing on ponds, but it's pretty spring-like now.
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.
Good Afternoon!
What a grey day! Had to run some errands this morning and when I opened the door to my car, I saw that the rubber door seal has disintegrated. The car is just a little over 6 years old and I had nver tried to pry the door open when it was frozen shut. Another unnecessary expense. Will cost me 100 bucks to get it replaced.
Just by chance, I came across some info on Z gauge. Boy, has that scale developed over the years! Aside from AZL and Marklin, there is Rokuhan in Japan, who has developed a foolproof track and electrical system, similar to Kato´s Unitrack. It´s really "plug and play"! The models are also quite detailed, even the steam locos. Look at this:
Comparing to N scale:
I see myself building a briefcase layout with that stuff
That would certainly take my mind of the current situation!
Happy times!

Good morning again.
Done running my errands and I have the rest of the weekend to myself
I can't believe I missed the Glenfiddich last night Brent. So unlike a good Scotsman to miss a calling such as this
Hopefully you saved one for me tonight or during the Vikings game if there's something to celebrate at halftime.... I Hope!
Some nice-looking modeling there Ed..... Impressive!
Ulrich, I'm so glad to hear you decided to give z-scale another whirl as space is limited right now. The positive side of the coin is detail is harder to see, so it's quite forgiving. Things will be turning around and getting much better for you soon, I just know it
Well, I'm going to run down to the 4 fives VFW and see the guys for brunch.
See you guys later on, make it a great day everyone!
Good morning from the soon to be chilly West Coast as we will be seeing low temps as we have not seen in many years according to Environment Canada. Currently, it is 4c but will drop to -10c to -15c over the next several days.

Ulrich, that's what wives are for.
I came home from work one day exhausted after about 20hrs and there was my wife under the hood of her Powder Ram (as I use to call it) with my tools all at the ready. The water pump had failed and as she was on call that night she needed it fixed and could not find anyone to do it on short notice so she bought the pump, brought it home and was putting it in as I drove up the driveway. She says I do microsurgery on animals and putting in a water pump is not exactly rocket science. I asked if she needed help, she said she had it covered so I went to bed and passed out. There was never any doubt in my mind that it would be done right.
The wifes Powder Ram.
Those are nice looking dining cars, Ed, I am hungry just looking in the window.
Both my Hudsons threw their traction tires yesterday and I have messed up the quartering I guess as the one I was working on runs like crap now. Where's the wife when I need her? Anyway like all things, I will take this as an opportunity to learn how to do something new. I may need all you experts to chime in and guide me along the way. I think I will just take the traction wheels off for the regular ones.
howmusBATMAN MisterBeasley No exercise bike for me! Nope, took the old mountain bike out in the balmy 60 degree weather in shorts. Lucky guy, I am relatively pain-free throughout the day, however, if I get out on the road on a bike I am in rough shape in short order. Wow Brent, I'm glad I seem to be a bit better off. My excercise regimen has gotten rid of most all of the arthritis I used to be dealing with. My Doc was already talking to me about how long it would be before I would be wheelchair bound. The excercise and weight loss got rid of most of my psoriasis which they now think was causing the arthritis...
I had a very rough 8 years Ray, the Docs said it would take five years for my spine to fuse, it took eight before I was off the narcotics. I found that sugar causes inflammation in the body, joints, and gut. I cut out most sugar/carbs and within a few days stopped even taking Tylenol. I maybe take a painkiller every couple of months if that and my gut has no more digestive issues either. Within 5 days of eliminating sugar, I was a new man, pain free. Our bodies were not designed for the stuff.
Well, the Canucks are on at 1000hrs West Coast time this morning in Buffalo the beverage will be coffee I guess.
All the best to all.
Brent

They should really give up and call it a day. After four hours they have accomplished almost nothing. The weather is not agreeable and they are having a terrible time of it.

This sort of thing is very sad!

I suppose one could conclude...... Don't slap each other either.

Some families just have this issue. It may be that one child feels they were treated unfairly, or any number of other things. Parents should do their best to make sure each child is treated the same. Even at that, some heirs will still be upset.

I am doing fine, so I let them fight it out and just stepped out.

Good Afternoon,
A chilly day here, about -20C but I have to out on a grocery run anyway.
Just had a Piliated Woodpecker at the suet feeder. She was here yesterday at about the same time. Magnificent bird.
I'm slowly getting the info I need and the nerve to pull the boiler on that brass Hudson thanks to help from forum members including Ed and Ulrich. It is running very nicely in reverse, close to a crawl. If the running performance were that way forward and poorly in reverse I wouldn't care so much.
Sure need to get the car washed, it is absolutely filthy but the only place to do it in this weather likely has a very long lineup. I think I will try tomorrow on my way to the gym.
Gosh, those red squirrels sure are aggressive. Two are fighting/chasing on the fence outside the window in front of me as I type. They will chase off the gray ones even though they are half the size. We have 2 that live in different areas of our backyard and they really defend their territory. One has been there for 6 or 7 years. We call him Basil and he lives in our carport/garage. It used to be a carport but we put a garage door on it some years ago for security and appearance. The back is still open onto the yard.
Time to get rolling.

Where's my friend saronaterry? I haven't heard from you for a while.
A man of few words on the Forum is hard not to like. That's Terry!
His basement completely full of HO layout. So impressive to me last Summer when I stopped by for a visit.
You guys would have had to be there to see for yourselves. His hidden departures and returns from staging. Not something common that you would see everyday.
Must have been the Carpenter in him.

Thats easy. If you have windows 10, just get rid or Norton entirely and make sure the windows antivirus and scanning is turned back on. Seperate antiviruses are becoming obsolete, as OS manufacturers are finally including top notch antivirus in their products.
The problem with seperate antiviruses is every time I have seen or used a computer with it, there is some bug on it, even with windows 10. If the OS had just been allowed to use the built in antivirus, those bugs wouldn't be there. Just MHO FWIW...
I'm beginning to realize that Windows 10 and sound decoders have a lot in common. There are so many things you have to change in order to get them to work the way you want.
I have one, get rid of your PC and learn how to do everything from your phone and let your phone service keep the drawers clean for you
10 years and running stong!
No viruses no problems no nothing, ...... I hate computers, I haven't seen one for 12 years.
And I haven't had any problems since I've learned to do internet from my phone.
I'm posting from my phone right now. Do you want to see a pretty picture?
There you go, now there's a pretty picture
Well, the more I tried to fix the Hudson the worse things got. I think if I disassembled all the rods/gear on the sides and reassembled it, things may be easier than trying to do it while all together. I wish Rapido had a video out on how to align the works up. I see another trip back to Rapido, on my dime this time.
Brent, .... If I knew how to fix a Hudsons tires I would surely step up to the plate and help a brother out but I don't and I am sorry but do you have a shot of that Glenfiddich

Flo, give the gang and I a , I will take a side of 2 pound dead shot hammer and Dirk half a Dog Treat.
Flo yes I said a 2 pound dead shot. What's is it for you ask? To smash BLI PRR I1sa to a pulp!
I have only had the BLI I1sa back form warranty reparis for two weeks! Sent it in because it stopped making Chuffing sounds. Guess what? Tonight no Chuffing sounds again! Going to call and see if they will send me call Lable so I don't have to pay for shipping a second time to Florida!
Chile last night. It tasted great! Had some kick and I drank a lot of water but only burned on the intake side.
Had to walk Dirk a quarter tonight to get him to do a #2. Normally I would not mine, but it was ranning. Well it was a lite rain and I did enjoy the walk some what. Wife was complaining he was wet! Never mind that I was wet as well!
Well the Disel engines are running great, BLI Steam Engines Suck Rail Spikes and Dirk say's Woof, Woof.
Later Dirk and Ken posting again.
