Bear,
Was the bird a local build?, or did it come from England/Canada?

It´s Sunday!
Time for my regular Sunday Big Breakfast! Make that coffee in an IV bag, crisp fried bacón, scrambled eggs, toast, butter, jams & honey, a stack of pancakes w/maple syrup, sauxsages, but leave out the OJ, please! It´s too healthy!
Bear - my folks wouldn´t be able to tell whether the Mosquito was made in England, Canada or south of the Equator - they only saw their "bottoms".
It´s another grey day. I am afraid that won´t change much until Spring springs next year. We have decided to put up a few bits and pieces of Christmas decoration to lighten up the grey days. Hope that helps. I have to say that our apartment is lacking daylight - too few and too small windows to get theat bright and airy feeling. The time for a change in location has definitively come!
Happy times!

morning all!
Been a bit hectic here with Thanksgiving and all - hope everyone who celebrated had a good one.
Ulrich, it's quite amazing how a little green can brighten up anything this time of year.

Flo, the gang and I will have a and for the brave of hearts some of Jan's White Lighting. Good to see you again Jan!
Over all pretty boring day. Did get a major Honey Do off the list, I hope? Front door had started sticking a few years ago. I have used a hand held sanding blocks many times with some results. But again and again my wife cannot get the door open? Yea at times it feel snug but never a real problem for me.
So today I went to Lowesand bought a Black & Decker Palm Sander for $24.08 with tax with my discount. I was surprised when I saw Vertains Only Parking Spots! Good for them! Sanded the heck out of the door and works smooth as silk. Wife is happy so I am happy.
Ed All most been a year that I have had the Mighty CB&Q's F7's and I Have not killed them! They are my main heavy pullers and still beat on them like rented mules! Thank You again Ed.

Evening diners,
Well I noticed today my scalp felt a little thin, I shot a picture of the top of my head and sure enough I'm going BALD! It doesn't run on either side of my family either, I'm thinking its stress or a vitamin disorder, I'm making an appointment with a Dermatologist tomorrow to get this straightened out before it's not just thin it's gone.
Luckily I'm tall and theres still enough hair that it's not too noticeable, but I've gotta get it fixed before it becomes worse.
Tomorrow I'm going to get my truck towed to a shop to get fixed.
Well I'll be around.
Steve
If everything seems under control, you're not going fast enough!
NWP SWPLuckily I'm tall and theres still enough hair that it's not too noticeable, but I've gotta get it fixed before it becomes worse.
Good luck with that!
Dave
I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!

That´s quite early, but neither unusual nor seldom.
NWP SWPI'm thinking its stress or a vitamin disorder
Unlikely, probably related to "manhood", i.e. your level of testosterone.
NWP SWPbut I've gotta get it fixed before it becomes worse.
That won´t happen, I am sorry. You´d better settle into the situation and let nature take its course.
My son was quite upset when his hair got thinner and thinner, starting at the age of 18.
Better to just grin and bear it with dignity!

I've been off for Thanksgiving vacation for so long that when I came back to the Forums, I actually forgot what month it was. I clicked on the Diner thread and thought the month had changed. "Wait, it's November already? I thought the end of the month was still a few days off... and didn't we already visit British Columbia recently? Wow, there's already a whole bunch of posts in this thread..." Honestly, it took me about 10 seconds to realize that the month hadn't changed, and I had clicked the first page of this thread instead of the last.
I can't figure out if I need less time off, or more.
Anyway, have some coffee and donuts. That should wake me up.

good morning ..
Our company is gone now , and we are trying to get everything back in order. Our next adventure begins in the middle of next week. ... Busy times.
Steve O ... thanks . I’ll just have coffee . I ate too much in recent days , and we still have large quantities of good leftovers. ... I know what you mean about being forgetful. Too well. LOL
Lion. ... your subway photo is excellent.
Everybody ... have a nice Monday .

Thanks, Steven O., for offering us doughnuts - I gladly have some. A little sweet thing now and then makes a grey day bright!
I actually "played" with my trains today and enjoyed it!
Great photo, Fra Leo!
Yeah Ulrich there ain't no way in heck I'm going to "accept" going bald at 18, ain't happening.

Tinplate Toddler NWP SWP Yeah Ulrich there ain't no way in heck I'm going to "accept" going bald at 18, ain't happening. There is hardly anything you could do about it - other than buying a wig, providing you don´t want to take the risk of a treatment with estrogenes, which may have side effects you don´t want. Think of Telly Savalas or Yul Brynner
Rio Grande. The Action Road - Focus 1977-1983
Yeah I'd sooner go with the Telly Sevalas, Yul Brenner, Bruce Willis look!
I've got nothing against being bald, I mean if I was in my late 20s early 30s I'd say so be it but not at 18, I'm not ready for that!
Then again it might help me get the chicks
My son´s hair started to thin when he entered puberty. We consulted a dermatologist, who confirmed that there are certain treatments, but none of them really effective. We decided against taking any risk and he fairly quickly settled into the new situation.
For hundreds if not thousands of years men have fought battles against balding, but none of them was ever won!

Maybe if you stopped worring about this you wouldn't lose as much hair.
I actually haven't bothered with girls much since my near miss with the 14 y/o, I was just adding it for some comic relief.
Anyways it's cold here in Louisiana! 50° on the mercury right now!
The hair thing----when I reached the point that it looked like a ostrich egg in a hummingbird nest---I just shaved off what was left, 50 years now.
One advantage is the stubble keeps a wool watch hat in place under the hood on oil skins. Great non-skid.
My maternal uncle lost his hair when he was in his 20's. The president of my med school class, must have too. He wore the most matted down, filthy toupee you can imagine.
Shaved heads are still in. As much as I hate shaving, I have no understanding as to why that is. I have had a beard most years since 1975.

My brother in law is a missing person tonight. He should have been home from work 4 hours ago. He is 70 years old and in so-so health, he has not run off with his secretary, nor does he travel through dangerous neighborhoods.
My SIL says she has called the police and all the local hospitals. I think I need some prayers.

well I have been cleaning the workbench flood damage. Not too bad, the TV survived, I think the receiver survived as well. The mini disc player had water in it but only in the bottom of the case. the circuit boards were set off the case so they did not get wet. the VCR survived and the CD player appears to have survived.
Smoke test next
Speaking of hair. Instead of ba;d I have had gray hair of some sort since 20. I have never colored it. I did not care nor do I care if it is gray. I do get the " you hair makes me look old" from Mrs MLC.
Prayers sent!
Hello everyone! New guy in the diner! I'll have a cup of coffee, and some apple pie if there is any left!

Thanks Garry and Mammay. Welcome to the diner Mammay, do you have something else we can call you by?
SIL actually didn't call all the possible hospitals, but there is still no news. He works at Ft Meade, so car jacking is unlikely nor could he have driven off a highly busy road without anyone seeing an accident.

Edit: Somehow my BIL was duped into thinking his daughter was abducted and is withdrawing money from bank accounts. He is safe, as is his daughter.
oh man glad he is ok, and was stopped in time before he sent the money. Scary world we live in.
