For years I've waited for an HO manufacturer to produce a small crawler crane. Artitec has answered .
Kinda 1940's era WW2 type but a crawler crane none the less. I imagine it can be kit bashed into later years.
Does anyone own this crane ? What's it made of ? Are Artitec vehicles made well ?
At nearly $70.00 USD . A we bit expensive for a HO vehicle.

Southland Industrial Railway or S.I.R for short. Enterchanging with Norfolk Southern.
1:72 will be just a tad big for HO. It falls between 1:87 HO and 1:76 OO.
I discovered Artitec when I was looking for a good steel piling seawall. (Didn't we have that conversation?)
I've since bought several of their fork lifts and small detail items. Most things are made using resin and brass etched details. They are painted and weathered beautifully. Some items are unpainted kits.
They are big into military models of several eras and countries. I'm looking for a couple of Shermans that are designed to be flat car loads.
I'm also looking forward to one of these:

I could go on but don't want to hog up all the space. If you see an Artitec item you like, don't hesitate. They sell out fast and it may be a long time before you see it again.
I built one of the Kibri crawler cranes (Menck?) some years ago. It is a good kit and more of a modern era if that is what you're looking for. I'm not sure of recent availability. Mine has a drag bucket but I think some came with a clam shell.
I think this is it:

Good Luck, Ed
Thank you Ed.
That's quite a bit of super detailing. Like all the scences you've managed to use Artitec models with. Preticularly, the oiler cart and shop scene. Speaking of shop scene.
Auhagen a German HO manufacturer. Makes a great steam forge hammer kit. Number 80109 . If you get a chance Google that kit.
I still haven't put mine together yet.

Oh, yes! That would be a nice addition to the shop in the photo above. I have one on the way from Germany lots of detail items with that kit, too.
I've heard of Auhagen. I bought some of the Walthers 2' gauge shop track and carts which I discovered were made by them.

Another neat machine I discovered is this stationary steam engine (could be used for a steel mill blower/compressor)

It comes with a railing which I haven't installed yet. Made by Faller. (The boilers and flywheel aren't part of the kit, though).

Thanks for the heads up!

If you can find one -- and it isn't easy -- Jordan Highway Miniatures made an excellent crawler in HO as the "Erie B-2 steam shovel," which can be adapted.

Do you mean the Artitec Bucyrus RB-17? https://www.artitecshop.com/de/bucyrus-rb-17-kran.html
It is HO-scale not 1/72.
It is made of resin parts and photo-etched parts. The crane is available as kit too. https://www.artitecshop.com/de/bucyrus-rb17-kran-60052409.html
It is $32.22 at Reynauld's.
I had a few 1/87 ship models. They were excellent.Regards, Volker
