I follow Ebay sales to see how prices are going (I'm not a member). I used to see the final bid and auction's end. Now when an auction or BIN ends, I can never see the final price. The webpage turns into another train listing I never saw before. Even when I click on the saved bookmark for this item, it's gone, replaced by another train listing. Anybody else?
I did notice a change when I made a few recent purchases. I wrote it off as a glitch? Maybe it will be corrected.
There is a BLUE banner that says This Listing is no longer available. If you click the word LISTING it will take you to the original item. (Blue type on a blue background?)

Once you're at that page there's another link right after the title to "See Original Listing" :

If you do a search for certain items you can use the check-boxes under "Show Only" on the left to see completed or sold auction items.
When they recently "revised" their feedback format I noticed that the comment box didn't automatically show "Saved" (auto-fill) comments. Now that option has returned. Perhaps from the urging of the Ebay Community?
Ebay does everything they can to try to SELL things. They want you to move along to available auctions, not browse unavailable items.

When I click on the link that says "see original listing", I expect to see the original listing! Instead it redirects me to some broken Tyco piece of junk I have no interest in.
Hopefully this gets straightened out soon.
A couple of years ago "Items I Did Not Win" disappeared for a while, then returned. Hopefully this is something like that.

I have found if you Google the item you might find a link to the listing. It gets annoying when looking for currently for sale items but for this it's useful.

I am a seller on ebay as well a a customer, and they have been doing some changes recently. If you absolutely CANNOT get back to it at all, my advice would be to save the link of the listing you are interested in the end results for and go back to it once it ends, or you could put it in your watch list.
I'm beginning to realize that Windows 10 and sound decoders have a lot in common. There are so many things you have to change in order to get them to work the way you want.

In my example above, the A-B-B-A set of Erie, Stewart F3s was in my watch list (still is, in fact). So, if I click on it from my watch list I get the "suggested" Santa Fe Bachmann listing shown in my first photo above. This is where the "Blue Banner" that I mentioned will show up when Ebay "redirects" me to an active listing which is to their benefit.
Once again, If I click on the highlighted word "listing" (I circled in green) it takes me to a "summary" page of the listing for the Stewart A-B-B-A set (second photo) where again, I can click on the "see original listing" link (I circled in green) and the original listing, with bidding history, photos and description resides.

The OP says he is not a member which leads me to believe he does not have a watch list. He also mentions that he IS bookmarking the link.

I just tried an alternate pathway.
I went to a finished auction that I did not win and clicked on the bid history. From the bid history screen there is a link titled "Back To Item Description", which I tried.
No luck. It also took me to suggested other items, not the original itme description.
I do not understand why they did this. In completed auctions there has always been a button marked "See Similar Items" which was just fine.
This is just part of the on-going trend of service providers (I use that term very loosely) to mess with a system that has suited their clients in the past in favour of a new system which makes things more difficult, and which, in many cases, takes you away from what you wanted to accomplish. (Windows 10 is a prime example!) I don't understand why eBay thinks that forcing me to look at a listing which is irrelevant to me would make me want to buy something that I don't want. Such practices turn me off and make me less inclined to use eBay.

Typical greedy businessman. They changed it to be that way on purpose. They want you to buy something else. It’s always about money. If you want to see how the auction ended you now have to save the exact title somehow, like copying it and pasting it into a notepad file, then search for it and check the box which says completed listing.
I was also annoyed by this change. It makes it more difficult to research an item. Granted you can still access the closed listing, but you can't see any photos other than the main photo. While not as inconvenient with a model train, the new feature makes accurate comparison of more complex items ( automobiles, etc) impossible. I called eBay and voice my unhappiness with a nice gentleman in a foriegn land. I urge all eBay users to make the call and let eBay know how you feel. It may help, but I'm not holding my breath. I look terrible in blue!
Ok. I have it figured out how to get. Ack to the expired listing. Go to the item in the watch list. Click on it. When it brings up the page, after the " we found a similar item". The first sentence starts with " the listing you are looking for...". Notice the word listing is in blue. That is a link back to a page that has "the item is no longer avaliable". But the item title line is blue. Click it. Takes you back to the original listing with full picture list and description

Without trying to be personal and argumentative about your feelings, I am offended by the "greedy businessman" remark. Yes, I am a former business owner. Yes, it is about profit - ebay and other business are in the market to produce income. Just like the local plumber, house painter, grocer, etc.. Are you exisiting on the same income level that you earned 10 years ago? I didn't think so. Many people are using the ebay and similiar sites to obtain items that they can readily (in many cases) buy outright. But they join the bid process in hopes of scoring a deal. How many times have you gone to a train swap meet in hopes of chewing someone down on the price of that much desired "thingamabob". As you said "its all about the money". Methinks that the businessmen are not the only greed ones.

I come from a family of business owners, as I was, and I said they were looking to make a profit, someone else played the greedy card.
That said, I was just looking at Proto GP9's on ebay.
The lowest shipping, for a reasonable priced loco (under $50) is 6.75, the highest 18.85
Once you get to $89 shipping might be free, or might not. At $155 for the loco, shipping still might cost $16.
I didn't check to see who has a bricks and mortar store and who is a purely an Ebayer, but draw your own conclusions and pick your own words from the shipping and price range.
The image in the first reply is the old layout. At least for the phone version. The phone formmat and possible the desktop are laid out different now. But still close enough to follow along and find it

I just went to my watch list, clicked on several completed or expired listings, and got the "result", sold, relisted, etc?
