Scale Trains are releasing their N scale ET44 locomotives. I have never seen a review of any of their engines. How is the quality and running capabilites of their engines compared to Kato and Atlas?

I can speak for the HO version......fantastic detail and very smooth operation. I purchased 2 in Norfolk Southern....straight DC. Ordered by way of landline and found their office staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. The unit’s where on my porch within 72 hours. I find their unit’s to be on par with my six Kato SD80mac’s. With that said......a positive experience all the way around.
Yes, their customer service was very polite and informative as to what was going on with the new ET44's. I will be purchasing all six numbers. I asked if they would be producing another run the future with differnt road numbers and was told that they probably would. Very good customer service..

I just got mine on Monday. Wonderful detail, great sound and smooth running. It's like the scale speed of an Atlas motor and the quietness/smoothness of a Kato - best of both worlds.
Took me a while to get to know, mostly because I'm not used to the ESU decoders - they're pretty complex and feature-packed! I think this locomotive is a landmark loco in N scale, it's basically everything modelers want in a locomotive. I believe this will be the new standard by whidh other N scale locomotives will be judged.
I purchased a BNSF tier4 in N scale and the detail is just unbelievable. In fact if you look at the BNSF C4 like I got, all the truck details are separately applied! And if you look into the tented cab windows I believe there is a cab interior also (sorry, with my 60 year old eyes I need a stronger magnifing glass, maybe even a telescope). Not to mention all the separately applied grab irons. Hard to believe that it’s N scale.
Problem is that it’s so detailed and looks so out of place with all my other locomotives that I will be forced to purchase at least one more to run it with!
