Ed .... A big thanks for restarting the January thread. .... Your request is an example of how we should make requests..... Requests should be easy for others to have a suitable photo . I think the rules should say that. People should not request obscure, hard-to-find items.
I also suggest the rules say "If a person does not include a request, then the preivious request is stll in effect."

i'm woking on a kfc now a life like kit have put up power poles and lines this month sidewalks have some streets and a new rail power 1370 power pak would put some pictures on don't know how yet a do a lot of kit bashing my hands shake bad so painting is hard love this site

This is one of my favorites, I doubt I could choose just one.
This guy is lettered with decals I received from one of my very first decal trades through the Rail Graphics trading list over thirty years ago. I used the smaller ones on an N scale car, but I still had the larger lettering for an HO scale car decades later.
I made the herald myself from bits of several different decals.

Kit Parts for a Railyard Models PC X79 Boxcar.
Finished model, painted with Floquil PC Green and lettered with kit supplied decals. These 60' cars were financed by Kelloggs and used for hauling cereal products out of Battle Creek, MI and sent all over the country. After Conrail they were relettered and eventually returned to Kelloggs.

Suspension of disbelieve is a term that means the audience believes that fiction is real but in general anything that is not average ruins the façade so I don’t really have anything too strange but a do have some Thrall All Door cars which are used to haul lumber. They are kind of strange compared to a normal boxcar.

A heater car (steam generator car) was used to provide steam to heat pasenger cars when a train was hauled with a locomotive that did not have a supply of steam. This Rapido model has simulated steam.

You definatly "earned" the right to brag about that one. I always "try" ( and usually fail ) to get wood to look that good ! That's an InterMountain Drop bottom Gondola isn't it ? I managed to get several of those at a yard sale 9 or 10 years ago..... still havent gotten around to building them.

Here's a Eastern Car Work's depressed center flat. Heavily modified to "actually" roll on track's. ( The kit straight from the box leaves a LOT to be desired )

They are kind of awkward looking as far as cabooses go. It is an Overland brass model that I picked up at the Berea train show for a song. (actually I can't sing, maybe the seller gave it to me cheap to make me go away!) I painted it and lettered it with CDS dry transfers IIRC.

Your covered hopper looks great, Bear! And, Many export cars were made by North American carbuilders and were shipped either to a port or to South America by rail so you DO have justification there.
I have a friend in Brazil that sent me some Frateschi Paulista passenger cars and an electric locomotive. I like to run them every now and then.

You are correct.................That was my original thought.
They produced 3 cabesse, in three colors, red, blue and yellow. I bought the red and blue and as you might expect it was the yellow whose price on eBay skyrocketed.
Trying to see what prices looked like now I searched wagon top caboose on eBay and came up with Fox Valley.

The farther one is an Overland brass model, bought before I ever thought they would be done in plastic. The Spring Mills one is every bit as good for 25% of the cost!

OK, a recent addition to my layout, this Case 988 wheeled excavator.
I added the hydraulic lines, air filter and exhaust pipe, along with giving it a used look.
I don't know what to say about part of my post missing, along with the reply button. I had lots of troubles right after this forum went through it's changes a couple of years ago, or was it longer . Anyway, no problems looking at anybodies post since.
I had to do a search, but it looks like AMTRAK is the only one that didn't put on the front handrails?

A recent addition was this little service truck my wife bought me.
I would never have bought it because it says "UNION PACIFIC" on the door, but I am thrilled when my other half gets involved with my hobby in any way. I love this little truck.

When I use Flickr to post photos here I don't use the M-R "Insert Photo" box. Simply copy and paste the "BB Code" from your Flickr "Share" menu.

Once the image is pasted into your reply it will look like this. The photo won't show. Some of the others that post from Flickr here modify the link to remove the ID tag at the bottom of the photo but Flickr says they do not want you to do this... so I dont.

My beautiful wife bought me both these Atlas Gold Trainmasters about a year apart. She was coming home and for no reason pulled into PWRS and they know what I like.
A year later I mentioned that I need one with a steam generator in it for my Passenger train, so she came home with one that had the engine number that was equipped with the steam generator in it. What a Gal!
