Living and working around SE Wisconsin, I'm really familiar with the CP and the SOO.
When the MILW / CP take over was complete, and the SOO started using the former MILW trackage, the old SOO Fond du lac, WI to Chicago main sat dormant and rusty, until the WC start-up in 87.

I finally had a chance to read through my January issue!

I must say, overall it feels better than most of the recent issues. The articles were all enjoyable. The Trackside Photos were especially good in this issue.
I was very surprised that the project layout will include custom made turnouts.
