Official Newsletter #1 December 2004
Pacific North Queensland will be busy this 4th Quarter with import/export activity to go up. More locomotives have been ordered from EMD and these include NDL39’s and ND44ACe’s. G&A interchange will increase over the coming weeks and also with NS. PNQ will run a joint run line between Townsville and the Gold Coast with Queensland Rail.
The Canasta High Speed Line will be double tracked in coming months and 10 new Canasta sets will join the 25 set fleet. The Super Royal Canasta service will be introduced in America on G&A’s recently completed CHSL. 5 SRC’s will be sent to America aswell as a new prototype Canasta called the Inferno. This tilt train will be able to reach 500kmp/h. The Inferno is just the starting point of Project Phoenix, a unique development project using a new power system called FireDrive. This system uses a vortex of superheated air to pull and pu***he train to a max speed of 500kmp/h. These trains resemble Shinkansen Nozomi 500’s.
G&A has bought four of the eight HOH’s PNQ is currently using to transport North Queensland ore to the transfer dock facility in Townsville.
Due to the release of Ratchet and Clank 3: Up Your Arsenal PNQ has been running a pair of SRC’s in a special R&C:UYA paint scheme with special futuristic interiors. Each car has been named after each of the weapons with the power units baring the names, Annihilator, Decimator, RY3NO and RYNOCIRATOR.
This Newsletter is sponsored by PNQ and Project Phoenix.
