Highliner parts on Proto 2000 E units

It's been a *long* time since I last posted here, but I'm still working on those Penn Central E units. What can I say--life got in the way. Anyway, the E I've been working on, is PC 4300. This was one of two former PRR units with dual headlights. Unlike the P2K model I have, the prototypes were fitted with passenger pilots, not freight ones. As the model is from the first run, there aren't any parts available (and I just missed a spare shell with the required pilot on Ebay). After some searching, I came across a pilot meant for a Highliners F unit. Has anyone fitted one of these to a P2K E8?

Your model is first run meaning the pilot, made of soft "engineering" plastic, mounted to the frame and left a gap at the anti-climber and body? 

My 5700 has two tiny clips at the edges which engage the nose of the shell. I'm pretty sure the Highliner pilots mount with pins and holes. That's not to say it can't be done you would just have to do some clamping and gluing.

I used to have a bunch of spare pilots... gave a lot away. I don't have any of the ones that mount to the frame to spare but I might be able to find one or two with the edge clips along the anti-climber. L-L used to give you extras.

I still have a couple you gave me.  They are safely tucked away in the same box (picked out the one I needed for my E7).  I'll see if I can find the box (we moved) over the next week.

 Edit:

They are not in the box with the E7 shell...

Probably in the recipient E7 locomotive box.

Neither of the spares I have appear to be the correct pilot.  One has non-clamshell doors.  The other appears to be the freight pilot (small hole, no doors).
