Posting pictures from Flickr
Posted by lone geep on Thursday, October 26, 2017 11:48 AM

Since Photobucket has changed so it's "Pay to Play" I've been searching for another site to upload photos to to post here. I've tried Flickr but I can't find a way to get the right link so the picture will show up on the forum thread so I was wondering if anybody here uses Flickr to host and if so, How'd you do it?

Thanks

At the bottom right of you picture is a series of icons, click on the upward right pointing SHARE arrow.  Select BB code which stands for bulletin board, an old term for Internet groups.  Hit Control C which copies the BB code.

In your post in this forum, simple hit Control V, this pastes the link into your psot.  You do not have to use the picture icon or change the dimensions

A detail on the BB code.  I use the middle of the medium size, not the large.

I don't remember why, but on one photo I had problems with artifacts, maybe with the large BB code choice.

You can right click, copy and right click, paste if you prefer.

When you succeed, your photo will show with a footer below it that includes your user name.  If you do not want that to show, you can doctor the link somehow, but I don't bother.

Thanks for the help. I did figure out how to do it but then I ran into the issue that a paragraph below the picture also turns into the link to my Flickr account. Is there a way to avoid it?

If you look at the BB code, you want everything from the beginning to the first

Delete everything beyond that.
