MR subscriber ONLINE CONTENT
Posted by MikeyChris on Monday, August 28, 2017 10:57 AM

I have been a digital subscriber to MR for a few years, and a particular matter has confused me.

Each digital issue has a ONLINE CONTENT CODE. Readers are directed to enter this code at:

www.ModelRailroad4r.com/code.

Once at that web page, the reader is directed to LogIn, and then:

Once registered, log in,  then enter your access code on any article

that requires an active subscription by clicking on the "Enter Access Code" button.

My question is "How do we find that ONLINE CONTENT?"

I have yet to see the "Enter Access Code" button.

What am I missing?

Thanx,

Mike

When I renewed my subscription for three years, about a year ago, I too decided to look for this exclusive subscriber online content. Never found the online extras.

.

I am not good at anything computer related... probably user error... I could use some help here.

You have to click on Magazine to open the menu.

I took a screen shot but I have to wait until I get home to upload it.

AH! Got it now. Thank you.

.

Now I need to get back home and get one of my magazines, log in, and try it out.

Randy, I clicked on "The MAGAZINE" (between HOME and GET STARTED on the top menu bar (whire letters on a black bar). Is this the button you are referring to? WHen I do that, I still am not seeing the "Online Extras".

I didn't see your screen capture, did you upload it?

Oh, wait. I think I found it. Is it all the way towards the bottom of the page, titled ONLINE EXTRAS? Duh! OK, thanx!

Are you looking for "subscriber extras" or "on line extras"?

If you put the cursor on where it says "the magazine" you'll see a drop down munu appear.  Third item down in the right column is subscriber extras.

If you click where it says "home", you'll get a slide show of what's coming up plus some ads.  Right below that you'll see on-line extras.

...

Thanx! That is another (probably more intuitive) path.

I still think the magazine makes it more difficult to navigate than it needs to be. If you are a digital subscriber, there is a link on one of the first few pages titled: "Online Content Code:MRRxxxx"

Below that there is the line: Enter this code at:www.ModelRailroader.com/code to gain access to web-exclusive content.

I think it would be more intuitive if clicking that link brought you to that content. Instead, you are redirected to a login screen. After that, you are basically abandoned (at least as far as I can figure). Also, there is no need for the code because once you login, you are acknowledged as being eligible to view the content. Just my opinion, of course.

Check your cookie setting in your browser, you might be blocking cookies from the site. I'm logged in and I can access subscriber extras without an additional login, I can also access MRVP without any additional login, and also the All-Time Archive, since I subscribe to all of these things plus the magazine, and it know that from my login account.
