"dummy suckered" !!!
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, December 16, 2004 10:27 PM
have been anticipating a package arriving from an
on-line auction site. well, it finally did. item was
an N - Scale ''dummy ", well , it's more like a
DUD !, and i was suckered...
it was NIB, however, couldn't see a brand name
on the box in the picture/ad [should've been a tip-off..]-
nice detail for a very inexpensive piece, but
the couplers are solid [fixed], and is totally
worthless as an actual rolling example..
don't let it happen to you.....[xx(]
guess i am used to larger scale stuff, when
it is a dummy, it is actually useable as one..,
or guess i'm the dummy !!!
live/learn..

have a good evening...

ah!
you feel my pain.

someone has 4 of them
up for auction for a seemingly
fantastic price...

they'll be feeling the pain, [:(]
hopefully not,... maybe they will
have read our posts !

live/learn...

One occasionally runs across scale locomotives that are intended as unpowered display pieces or toys--plastic trucks and wheels, dummy couplers. I have seen these at occasional train shows and such. When in doubt--ASK--and remember, if the price seems too good to be true, it probably is...
