I have audio, but no video. Is there something wrong with my computer?
Thanks
Chris
Yes
Make sure there isn't a red slash thru the speaker icon at the bottom left of the video. Both your computer and Firefox have speaker controls that can be in the off position as well.

He said he has audio...it is video that he doesn't have.
I had a similar problem recently. I am using an ad blocker, and for some reason it thought that the videoportion was an ad. If you have an ad blocker, try disabling it for the MRVideo site and see what happens.
I am also having problems not getting the video part of MR Video Plus. The MR videos work fine. As far as I know, I have no ad blocker. I'm guessing the problem is on their side.

I get that problem when my internet speed is too slow to support both audio & video....
But I doubt that is the issue here...
Ad blockers or incomparable browser versions sound like the most likely here.

Heck now I am audio/video dyslexic?
At the time I responded, the audio and video worked for me and still does. It looks java script based. Firefox now has java capabilities built in without having to install a plugin or add-on
Some of the cookie blocking software like Ghostery can block javasript.
Sometimes the installation of Firefox becomes corrupt and things don't work right anymore. If you are using firefox you may have to Firefox Refresh from the help/troubleshooting menu. It this is an Internet Explorer problem, I have no advice.

When I was having a similar problem I did use firefox refresh and that cured the issue. However, the refresh did not, at least for me, reinstall the ad blocker I was using. When I reinstalled the ad blocker, the problem re-ocurred. That's why I suggested earlier in this thread that if the OP was using an ad blocker he disable it for the website.
Now, on the other hand, I did receive an email from Kalmbach thanking me for being a subscriber. And since it was an aniversary of that happening they gave me a gift, which was a downloadable article with attached video. I never could get that video to open no matter what I tried, firefox or internet explorer.
Was it that one with kitbashing videos in it? Hmm, that worked fine for me. Plays right out of Adobe Reader, doesn't even open any browser windows.

I also had a problem with MRVP video not playing, I switched to google chrome and it is working again. You may need to update your browser. I was using IE before.
I'm ONLY using IE. It always works.

If it is me you are asking, yes, they were cutting up buildings.
What is adobe reader? Isn't that the same as the adobe that opens PDF's?

My guess is that he means "Adobe Flash Player"
Sometimes it helps to be sure the Flash Player has been updated recently.

No, I mean the Adobe Reader. The downloadble file is a PDG with embedded videos in it. There's text, pictures AND the videos. I can open that one up and click on any of the videos and they just play. No opening of a browser window or anything. I have the file downlaoded and saved on my computer along with all the other Information Station PDFs they've offered as free gifts over the years.
rrinkerNo, I mean the Adobe Reader.
If this is the Adobe thing that allows you to read PDFs, I have that and still cannot open the video portion of the download (w/firefox). If I open the link with InternetExplorer (latest version), I am able to at least select the click here spot on the different screen selections, but all I get is the audio.
After downloading, what do you have? It should be a .PDF file. MRVPDF504.PDF to be exact. Just click on it and it should open in Adobe, NOT Firefox or IE (unless you messed with file preferences). On the first time opening it on a different computer, I get a yellow bar at the top that says features are disabled unless you trust this document, and there is an options button which allows me to do so, then I can click on any of the videos.
This is the one with Tom Lund doing kitbashing - sounds like you have the same one.
What version of Adobe reader do you have? Mine is Adobe Reader DC 2015.023.20070 when I do Help, About. When I tried it for the earlier post I was on my laptop at work. i just tried it now on my desktop at home and apart from having to select the option to trust the document again, it works and the videos place with both video and sound.

Are you using Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 7? Reading through recent video comments, that seems to be a common theme. It appears that MRVP changed their imbedded video program recently (last Monday). Since then MRVP stopped working on IE on my computer. I tried it with Google Chrome, and it works, so its not really a problem for me. When that stops working, I'll mess around with updating the different web browsers and stuff. If ever I cant get Win 7 to work, I will be switching to Linux.
rrinker It should be a .PDF file. MRVPDF504.PDF
What I see is: http://mrr.trains.com/-/media/Files/PDF/Circulation/MRVPDF504.pdf. Looks like the same thing to me.
I just checked the Reader thing and I have Adobe Acrobat reader 2015.023.20070. Again looks like the same thing.
Yes, it is the Tom Lund video articel.
When I try to open this with firefox, clicking on the upper right corner of the boxes where it says "play video" results in nothing happening. The mouse cursor does not change state from a pointer to a "hand".
If I open with IE, the cursor changes state to a hand, and clicking where it says play video results in the audio only with the video having a black screen. I can't seem to find out what version of IE I have, but since this computer is ony two months old w/win 10, I'm assuming it has the latest IE version.
Save it to your local hard drive. The PDF viewers built in to the browser do not have the video capability. I just clicked your like with CHrome and it opens the text/pictures but the video will not play at all. Chrome at least also pops up an option tha tsays "Open in Acrobat Reader" which works (just confirmed it - get same "trust this document" prompt but then the video plays, with video and sound), but just save it to your local drive and open it with Adobe - it shoudl work fine. Don't bother trying Edge, the built in PDF reader there can't even display the static pictures, let alone play video.

Nope. Instructions say "Problems opening this file? Save to your computer.
Clicking "save" gives me two choices: open with adobe acrobat reader (DC) default, and save file. If I click to open with acrobat reader, it opens with a message up top that says "some feastures have been disabled to avoid potential security risks. Only enable these features if you trust this document". So there are then two more options: trust one time and trust always. Picking either of those get me no where, because when I click on play video nothing happens.
The other original choice was "save to computer, then save file". This causes a download to the windows 10 download folder. Clicking on the file in the download folder results in the download opening. Then clicking on play video gets me the audio. The video generally opens to a black screen. Sometimes the video will open toward end to segment.
By the way, I did call customer service on this, and received an email back that didn't help. Then I received another email with the same video again. This new transmittal did not open properly either.
Frankly, I'm inclined to not spend anymore time on this.
It defnitely needs to be opened with Adobe DC, either off your hard disk or when the option is presented in the browser. The blocked content thing is what I've been talking about, by default Adobe DC won;t play video content because it doesn't know where that file came from. Either option should work.
If it's coming up blank after you save to your hard drive, is it opening in Adobe DC? It sounds like it's probably opening in Edge which is what Windows 10 defaults to for a PDF reader (go figure - though it does work on plain text PDF files). You may have to right click, Open With and select Adobe.
It's not a bad bit of information and tips - it probably could be just one big video but that probably would make the file huge. Not sure what the format is when embedded in a PDF like that, but being Adobe they are probably Flash.
rrinker is it opening in Adobe DC?
Yes, Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.
