IS THERE STILL A MODEL RAILROAD BADGE ?
Posted by WRGMILW on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 1:04 PM

When I was in scouts  (MANY FALL MOONS AGO( I AM 54 ) ,I do not remember that merit badge .  I would have tried for that one .

I heard there was one in the 90's !   Is that merit badge still around ?

If so , What activities are needed to get it !

Thanks in advance !

Please Note I have many Train scales & track !  I also have a empty (temp train loop)  Train table available .   I would donate Time & Space to a Troop(S)  in the Wauwatosa ,WI  area if the need was there !

TO SCOUT MASTERS in THE WAUWATOSA AREA , & BROOKFIELD AREA , please Contact  Me at WRGMILW@AOL.COM

CHARTER MEMBER OF THE MILWAUKEE FALLEN FLAG MODEL TRAIN CLUB .  I COLLECT HO, N , O-3rail & On30  Trains & run them !  I Use KATO HO & N scale Track . I also Use Lionel Fast Track !   I change track layouts Often !

There is a "Railroading" Merit Badge.   One option includes model railroading.

Yep, Railroading covered both model and prototype. I earned it in ~68/69, before I became a model railroader. Sounded like fun, although it was other circumstances/inspiration that got me into the hobby by 1970.

Here are the rules.  The late James Eager of Florida was very active in this area and discussed it often on the mrhmagdotcom forums.
