Just watched this on Amazon. Thought it was good although I fo not understand why you would have people talking about scale model trains with a backdrop of old Lionel ads.

Hi Joe:
The link is missing from your post.

I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!
I think it would be a violation of forum rules for me to put in a link as this would be to a site where you might have to pay to watch the movie unless you are a prime member. My purpose is notvto sell anything just curious if anyone else has seen it.
Difficult to talk about something you cannot see, in fact, useless.
There was some past discussion about it...

I have not had the time to see it yet, too many outdoor chores!

Looking at some of the still photography, I wonder why the photographer shot the model scenes at f1.8? Depth of field is awful at wide aperatures.

So it's a documentary about model railroading of a all scales including engines big enough to sit on. The trailer is easily found on the Internet and they have 8 one minute videos on their webpage.
Why wouldn't you interview a model railroader in front of a collection of Lionel posters? For a certain age group, that was their introduction to model trains.
Thanks for bringing it to our attention but it's probably not a movie I will watch. I am happy that large scale modelers and rivet counters are part of our hobby, but understanding what draws them to that part of the hobby is of no interest to me.

"Model Citizens" is a crowd funded documentary focusing on the people who are model railroaders. It is quite interesting, and it is hosted by Michael Gross. I was one of the small donors who helped to make it happen, and for my contribution, I got a credit and a dvd of the documentary. The focus is on the real people, and not the trains.
Just watched it. Thanks for the post.
I have the right to remain silent. By posting here I have given up that right and accept that anything I say can and will be used as evidence to critique me.

Thanks for the heads up Joe, I've didn't know it had been released yet.
Even though some here are rude, the rest of us appreciate the notification.

It's a millennial filmmaker investigating and explaining what makes this hobby both super cool and underappreciated. I can get behind that.

Streamlined steam, oh, what a dream!!
Thanks for the heads up. I followed this project before the updates stopped a while back. I watched it this afternoon and really enjoyed it. It did a great job laying the hobby out there. I know she had tons of interviews and footage that did not make the final cut. I would be really interested in seeing all of it.
Thanks Joe, Most enjoyable movie. Nice to know that my Amazon prime includes some free movies.
