Here are some heavyweight cars which the Burlington modernized and painted silver in an effort to be compatible with stainless steel equipment.

Please show more old passenger cars.

De Luxe

@gmpullman: you were faster than me and you posted your posting while I was still writing mine, and now after I posted mine I saw yours. I´d say let´s ignore what I wrote and let it have being continued with what you demanded.

DeLuxe— Those cars still qualify as "pre-war" so that certainly is appropriate!

I enjoy seeing lighted passenger trains! Yes

Regards, Ed

Here is a prewar scene: In 1894 passengers are gathering on the observation platform of the SP Sunset Limited on its long journey from New Orleans to San Francisco.

More prewar passenger scenes please!

@ATSF Guy: Yes, it´s my 14 car brass Sunset Limited by S. Soho. The absolute pride of my fleet. Even though the GS-4 (by MTH) is very heavy and has traction tires, it can´t pull more than 6 of these brass Soho cars! But thanks God my PA-1 AA Unit that usually pulls this train has enough power to pull the full 14 car consist, which is important as the train was pulled exactly by PA-1 AA Units in Texas and Louisiana. I don´t even own any E7´s! Big Smile

@RR Mel: You´re welcome!

Here are some heavyweight cars of the Unidos del Sureste which operated the long distance passenger train "El Méridano" together with the Nacionales de Mexico between Mexico City and Mérida from 1968 till 1993. My consist represents the 1968-1972 era when half of the train was still made up of heavyweight cars.

Show me some dome cars with interior lighting!

How about some heavy weights; six wheeler type!

The red carpet is rolled out for the boarding of the Century which is presently being pulled in, tail-end first by a venerable old S class electric.

On the adjacent track sits the Cleveland Night Express which doesn't depart until 1 a.m. but Pullman passengers can board at 9 p.m. and catch some sleep before departure.

Show me more "pre War" passenger scenes.
