I was there (the old building) from '51 to '55. Took the bus from Pelham Bay Station in the morning, usually (but not always) rode the subway home by way of the station closest to the home of the young lady I was dating (and all over elsewhere - I believe that I rode every line I could access without using another fare.)
During my sophomore year I acquired the nickname Tokyo Joe because of my interest in the Imperial Japanese Navy. Ten years later I was in Japan and married to the Japanese lady who got me pointed at modeling the JNR - and still shares my life.

Cool photos! I sure wish I had a setup like that.
Is your layout based on the 1950's or 1960's?
Layout is based on The R-17 (which is the only sort of cars I can buy). Every thing else is what it is, certainly the Coney Island train shed is later than that, as are the murals in the Courtland Street Station.
