This is the biggest steamer on my layout, a 2-8-4 Berkshire. It handles my 22 inch mainline curves just fine, and has pulled 35 hopper cars. It's an old AHM, plastic. I added as much lead ballast as would fit. Show me more steam.

There is only one steam engine around still in the 1990s, an Alco 4-8-4 Northern. It is operated by the historical society. It only runs a few times a year, pulling an excursion of old passenger cars (not pictured).

While builing a tunnel I filled a hole in the foam structure with scraps before adding sculptamold to the mountain. The hole was bigger than I thought as I had to keep adding scrap to fill it.
After I was finished I took some pictures and one of them showed the inside of the tunnel filled with scraps.
Fortunately I had enough access openings to clean out the tunnel.
Please show more misstepts that occurred on your layout.
EDIT: RAy, It looks like we posted about the same time so let's go with Rays request and show us something rare

How about a modeling misadventure. I was looking for a shade of blue that would photograph better than CSX blue. Electric blue was not what I had in mind.
It's really Ford Engine Blue, but still doesn't work for me.
